yes yes yes!!! this is so awesome! i cant believe it! this is unreal! marlins beat the yankees! the YANKEES! this is the coolest thing ever!

There are already two threads talking about this..

Yes, they will. Remember the Marlin's record after they won the first time? It was not as bad as Detroit this year, but it was still abysmal.

They'll probably sell all their players again.

I wonder if they Yankees will fire Torre. If they do so, its a big mistake.

The Marlins were 54-108 in 1998, after their championship.

I don't think it would go nearly that far, if they do drop. Still...Loria is a scoundrel.

As for the Yankees...I don't know if Soriano should be traded. Who would you replace him with? Unless they manage to get Kazuo Matsui....

They do need relief pitching, badly....and some decent starters this coming year.

Trade Soriano? He's one of the three Yankees I actually like!

Who said the Marlins won't be good next year? They have an incredible team. And I wouldn't write the Angels off, either. They have a lot of talent.

Trade Soriano??

He batted .290 this year with 38 walks, 38 homers, & 35 stolen bases as a leadoff man. He gives the Yankees a solid leadoff bat & some much needed speed on the bases.

However he strikes out way too much chasing pitches out of the zone & possibly needs to be moved out of the infield so he can take advantage of his footspeed on the field, he's simply commiting too many errors when it counts at 2nd.

If the Yanks fire Torre, Steinbrenner needs a freaking labotomy. No way they should fire arguably the best manager in the game because the Yankees choked when it counted. They do need some serious bullpen work though.

In this thread I agree with you completely. Though as a Yankee hater I hope they are that foolish.

Dream scenario - King George fires Torre mid season, Torre takes over, say, the Brewers, who will at this point have the worst record in history. The Brewers stage a miraculous turn-around, but fall behind in the series against the Yankees 3 games to none. Then they win 4 straight. Or win the first four games for a sweep. Either would be splendid.

I think its time to wake up, the world isn't that twisted.;)

Soriano almost lossed the playoffs for the Yankees and was one of the causes of them loosing the World Series!! You were sure of a strikout or fly out when he came to bat! He is only good for stealing bases which I give him credit for but if he cant even get to a base then there is no use.

There are many players he can be traded for, or take him out of the line up!

And if someone fires Torre, then they are on crack.

Yes, during the Marlins & Boston series Soriano was slumping BAD. But if I was steinbrenner would I trade him? No way! He's only put 2 "real" years into MLB & before that he was a solid bat all season long.

My problem with him isn't his batting average its his errors at 2nd base.

Talk about knowing how to rebuild a team *cough* red sox pay attention *cough*

The only reason the Marlins had a bad season after the won last time is because they sold off their good players. I'm just happy the Yankees didn't win. They win too much and can pretty much buy all the players they want anyway.
