I'm currently working on a Mod Project called Our Sovereign Nation (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ew0CUucVSw3IDtxG3_37SlyjrETxuZGwi6Odd29rsws/edit?usp=sharing) and would like as much help as possible from as many people as possible. The idea of the mod is to add content for every individual civilization to make them feel more unique without changing game-play AT ALL. For example, one that I already finished is Our Sovereign Nation: Quotes, which gives every civilization their own set of Tech / Civic quotes which are either about or from someone of that civilization. There's lots of civs and lots of components, I can do most, if not all, coding myself, but I need help doing research and filling in the empty cells, that alone is taking me months to do on my own. I've started working on Our Sovereign Nation: Great People, I finished Great Prophets and am almost done working on Great Generals.

All help, major or minor, is appreciated greatly.

Interesting stuff. You seem to have done a lot already.

Here's my opinions, for what they're worth:

For the Iconography section, you shouldn't limit yourself to things that exist in real life. For example, it doesn't make sense to have the Kurdistan Communist Party as Sumeria's communist name. It'd be better off as something like the Sumerian Socialist Republic. Other things that don't make sense are Brazil becoming Uruguay, Japan becoming the Ryukyu Kingdom, etc. Conflict would also be created if someone made a Ryukyu mod, for example.
Likewise, it's probably better to have civilizations like the Aztecs stay as the Aztecs and not as Mexico/Cuba as time progresses- not only does this make more sense (Civ is a form of alternate history, and certainly the Aztecs wouldn't be conquered and colonized by the Spanish every game (and could survive to the modern era))

I don't really understand the need for unique citizen names and unique resource names. Will the mod remain modular so that I'd be able to refrain from downloading those parts of the mod?

I'll probably help with the Victory Texts and with modifying Iconography (if you're open to my suggestions). Would you rather I posted stuff here or directly on the spreadsheet? If it's the latter, then let me know and I'll PM you with my e-mail.

Citizens, resources, and things like that are really just there because I thought it'd be interesting, no other reason. The mod is most likely going to stay modular, but will have a version with all of them in one mod simply for conveniences sake. I see what you're saying with Iconography, but one sort of sub-goal of this mod is to educate as well as just provide interesting uniques, I'm not sure I would want to have things like a Sumerian Socialist Republic, purely because I don't want people who aren't all that historically inclined to think that such a thing ever existed. Perhaps there could be some sort of middle ground, The United States was never a monarchy but there was a "declared" king allowing for the monarchy part to be filled, perhaps something similar could be done where the civilization never actually was one of the governments, but maybe under someones certain rule or point in time they were something that almost resembles it. I understand with the Ryukyu kingdom and Brazil straight becoming other countries, though, and have removed them.

I'm completely open to suggestions, I would rather you post it on the spreadsheet through comments as that's a little easier for me, but if posting them here or through some other manner is easier for you, then that will work as well.

I understand the commitment to history, and agree that historical versions of nations should be prioritized if available (ex. Thirteen Colonies wasn't really a chiefdom but works excellently as the Chiefdom version of America), but this is civ. You can fly to the moon as the Aztecs and build the Pyramids in Brazil. Sumeria doesn't exist in the real world anymore because it was conquered and its culture was lost to time, but that evidently doesn't happen in a civ game where they made it to the modern era. Therefore, it makes sense and would feel more immersive that their iconography would reflect the alternate history that exists in your civ game (ex. What if Sumeria survived and became Communist?) rather than strictly limiting it to events that happened in our timeline.

I'm sure people who download the mod would be intelligent enough to realize that certain civilizations never existed in certain eras or forms in real life, and that a little bit of creative interpretation is required. Even games like Hearts of Iron IV use alternate history names for countries which never existed (like Unitary Canada to represent Fascist Canada, which never existed and was not a real political movement). IMHO alternate history names would add a little fun and immersion to the alternate history that you create each time you play a game of civ.

Oh, and I see you've added the science victory texts that I made. I'll continue to work on the rest of the victory texts in the coming weeks.

I guess you're right, Civ is historically themed but because of the nature of video games it's almost automatically put into the historical fiction category. I was unaware that other history / alternate history games like Hearts of Iron did this, knowing that I feel more comfortable in doing so if no better alternative can be found.

Also, something I forgot to mention in the OP that isn't super important but worth noting, I started making this spreadsheet before Civ 6 was released, so there may be some things like "Gives 1 Envoy [Translation Unclear]" or "Effect Unknown" or simply false information left over from pre-release leaks and speculation. If you find something like this, just comment pointing it out and I'll get to it.
