Should I campaign for a Inuit flavour of units, or should i campaign for a African/Zulu flavour of units?

YOU BE THE JUDGE!!!

(btw, should i post a poll, or not?)

Roman ones would be best ;)

I was debating Romans, but plenty of requests have been placed, btw how you get so many posts?

upon reflection, it's probabley all spam :p

Scutatio, Cataphractari, BeBro's 4 legionaies, ummm... What else what else, oh aaglo's Roman siege ships... There are plenty.

Right now we need more AFRICAN units. There are LOADS of American civs out there, and PLENTY of Asian, European, Middle Eastern...

But we have only ONE African civ, which's presence should be strengthened by adding flavors...

bebros legioanries were NOT requested he made them in his own time, and IMO, they are not of the same quality done by unitmakers such as utahjazz (no disrespect mean bebro)

and those ships are GREEK- to be Roman they need CORVUSES- which are small bridges which attach a Roman ship to an enymey one, allowing Roman marines to fight the crew of the ship

I say Inuit, and possibly Viking. There are 0 Inuit units (while many more African ones), and there are about 4/5 (counting come with game, and Conqests extras), that could seem Viking. Inuit is more urgent than Viking though.

Let's see, I requested Velites, but that might get finished without any more pushing. I would love to see a Roman Imperial era Archer. There are quite a few Roman fantasy units, but why not finish the set? :D

Oh I was talking about completed ones, Xen, not requests that are pending. Besides, requests should be made according to what's out there already, am I not right?

BeBro's units only have the extra sharpness problem IMO, and if they are smoothened a bit, they'd be good.

Besides, just a tiny detail wouldn't make them non-Roman (just as the corvuses that you mentioned), if you know what I mean. While having them 100% accurate is a good thing, the lack of pure historical accuracy does not make them priorities compared to the MANY other areas the game needs to be modded on.

I still want to say that African flavor units should be given priority. My reasoning for this is simple:

1. There are already COMPLETED Roman units out there. They can ALWAYS be edited. There are Roman units which RESEMBLE Roman units, but are somewhat different in small details, which would NEVER be noticed by anyone who doesn't know (which is the majority here). They can be used, but once other flavors are finished, could be returned to.
2. There are plenty civs of each culture (Middle-East being the most nowadays after C3C).
3. There are still Roman unit requests pending. Even fantasy ones!
4. There is only ONE African civ, discluding the Chartagians. Without adequate flavors, it's impossible to tell the difference of the Africans from other civs, as they don't even have their own culture group! (I'm considering an epic game. I know there are African city graphics out there, but can't be implemented into the game). I want my dark-skinned friends in the game, dammit!

Besides, Kal-El has come up with great and neat concept sketches.

While Inuits are good, too, I don't really see the point of "massively" requesting units for a civ that doesn't even exist in the game yet!

I'd say:

1. concentrate on the already existing civs.
2. concentrate on those which really are singled out and need to be expanded.
3. concentrate on flavor replacements for the epic game, instead of making units of the same line.

Let me expand on the third point I made:

I've never seen the point of adding thousands of Jets into epic games. What I mean by this is, that when you hit a certain tech, you recieve about 6-8 new jets, which all serve the same purpose basicly, but have slightly different stats.

There are unit creators who continuously make jets, but they do this since it gives us some flavor graphics. However, they are easier to animate compared to human figures (these aren't my words).

Now, with the Roman soldiers, it's similar. Such as the early-imperial swordsman, late imperial swordsman, republican, democrat, liberal, communist swordsmen, whatever, unless you're making a scenario, there's not really a point in making so many of them. It makes much more sense to make units to replace the already existing ones in the epic games.

IMO, they are to big, heads are scaled to be to big for the bodies, and the angle they are in is not the same as other units

I dont care about another bloody ****ing legioarny from the imerial era, or what not, at least not now- I want my modern Roman units, ROme from a what if age of imperialism and what not

bull****, I would notice if a Roman musket man lacked his musket, and had a spear, and I think most people would too

pending my ass, they arnt going to be made, not now, and we all know it

dammit, i want my meditteranen units!- and there are 3 african civs- Zulu,. Carthage, and Egypt- I couldnt care less about some minor African Tribe- if the Zulu were the Mali, or Ethiopea, then I would, but as such, the Zulu are a minor foot note on the sole of British imperial military historys boots

you dont seem to understand I could care less if another 50 legionaies came out- I want my Roman gunmen, I want my flavor units for what could have been

Oh Xen, I agree on the Roman gunmen, I can't say anything for that. I've been waiting for that unit for a long time, too. Just as Louis said, I'm waiting for the archers as well.

But there are greater priorities out there than the rest of the Roman units. That's what I'm trying to explain here.

Yes like Indian, Zulu, Persian, Korean, Ottoman, Babylonian, Egyptian, Chinese, Iroquois units. Oh yes and you can't forget the most need.. *drumroll* Carthaginean units!

@Mobilize- that may seem like an answer to you, but I dont have the time to learn, or put into practce the art of making units

@SpincruS-greater priorities my ass- china, india,, and all the asiatic, and subsahran civs have been getting units done forever, and if you would look through the unit library you would see that...

---------------------------------------
basically, I see you all as being major hopcrits- you claim to want more variety in your units, but you would mostlly prefer that civilzation that had little or no effect on anything get units, while civilization like Greece, and ROme, argubaley the two most important civilzations in not just western, but all history langauish behind the rest- I for one dont like it, and would prefer that real empires get the priorities in units for once- besides, the greco-Roman asthetic happens to be one I for enjoy over others ten fold

Inuits, definatley, I personally want inuits, though others minds may differ.
