Master Map Change Thread

Falklands (seriously though Stanley with 21 pop?),
Yeah, it's one of the realism problems of cold waters.

As far as I can tell this also ties in with stability now that the ratio between core/non-core pop affects it?
Well, the human can always click the "avoid growth" button.

To all proposing the nerfing of ocean:

I'd rather have something sound in terms of gameplay than something realistic.
There are definitely better tiles to work than a 2 Food, 2/3 Commerce tile.
A mediocre size 15-21 city site can grow as much it wants, that's fine by me.
If Food is seriously a problem, there are "worse" things to go after like City States or Cereal Industry.

Yeah me too. *Nostalgia flashes*

Alright, here are the things that people should look into as a priority to help with the map advancement and discussion
  • Russian geography; resource distribution is fine (overhaul of East Russia)
  • Geography and resource overhaul of the Congo and Mali areas
  • Canadian resource and geography refining
  • Middle east geography and resource refining
  • Australian geography
  • Brazil and Argentina overhaul
  • Dynamic resources list

I'll look at all the suggestions thus far and try to add them to my map. Take screenshots, and post them on the first posts to see the progress.

Spoiler :
Indochina (Khmer and Thai cities).JPG

Expanded the indochina Peninsula to represent Khmer (and the spawn of Thailand doesn't need to destroy their capital).

Map changes:
The mountain moved 1E, the gap filled with unjungled hill.
1 mountain added south of the initial. An unjugled grasslanf hill 1S of the second mountain.
Two unjungled grasslands added south of the "Angkor" position
Changed the river ending so to flow on the east side of Angkor and Phnom Penh.
Hilled the tile 1W of Ayutthaya.
Hilled and jungled the tile 1E1S of Ayutthaya.

Resources changes:
Dyes move to the Banana, Banana moved to 1E1S of Ayutthaya.
Elephants added 1N of Angkor.
Sugar moved 1E of Ayutthaya.
1 clam east of Phnom Pehn: Phnom Penh is the "Perl city" of Asia, it helps the UHC of Khmer (it can be done without it, but it is difficult).

The clam west of Ayutthaya kept, because it may be used by Lamuri in an Indonesian game.
The clam of Phnom Penh is in the only position that cannot be claimed by other city. (It can be claimed by Angkor if Phnom Penh not built.)
The elphants north of Ayutthaya kept. It may be an interesting game if AI Thailand and AI Khmer, both have elephants and prepair for battle.

City changes:
Angkor is a mainland city as intended.
Room for Phnom Penh, the harbour-city of Khmer
Hanoi should be prebuilt (chinese or independent).

Yeah, it makes Thailand somewhat less inelegant. I mean, when you have to make the game raze a capital of one civ to make space for another...

But... but we no needs Saigon?

I mixed the proposals. I insist about the enlargement of Indochina, the Phnom Penh clam and the Angkor elephant.

All these map changes need to have Leoreth give an okay though. It's one thing to change tiles, but something like that will require city name changes and stability tile changes

I like the increase of Indochina though, especially the aspects I look for in this game.
Better Vietnam,
more possibility for some dichotomy in the region.
I'll combine it with my Indochina changes
