Could you tell me what color name is used for Tecumseh's bright green alternate jerseys?
They're not noted in the file because you left them unaltered, but I want to reference them for use as a replacement for Ibn B.'s main jersey.

Also is there a reason why the colors.sql is listing Prismatic and other's colors palettes? Like, a function?

The bright green Tecumseh uses should just be COLOR_STANDARD_GREEN_MD.

As for other modders' colours - a community member gave me a template to help me get started with making this mod. It included other modders' colour definitions - collected over time iirc from various Civ 6 mods, including civ and leader mods - and it didn't feel right to scrub them from the files, even if I don't plan on using them!

You can make this change in your own files: in the colors.sql file, under --Matt's Colours, insert:

SQL:

Where it previously said

Otherwise, if you'd rather just swap the order of jerseys, you can also do that in playercolors.sql.

If another person also struggles with the current Tubman colour, I'll certainly make this the new jersey in the next update.

Haven't had internet access for a bit but just to confirm - the darker colours worked perfectly on my settings for that rest of that campaign, thank you!

And wow - big fan of that new Ibn Battuta. You have a great eye for colour.

If we can be so bold as to just request stuff I'd love to see your take on Tecumseh / Shawnee, I'm really not a fan of the brown and yellow - I always think I'm playing Pachacuti. The SeelingCat and DarthStarkiller jerseys use this sort of teal and pale yellow for the Shawnee which is quite striking, I believe pulling from the modern Shawnee seal. But there are plenty of choices for something more period-appropriate, like on the Shawnee wikipedia page I saw this evocative excerpt from a 'Journal of Nicolas Cresswell' talking about the Shawnee's extensive silver jewelry and faces all painted in vermillion - almost sounds like the inverse of your Confucius jersey! His ingame model and historical portrait also make use of this dark red / burgundy on silver and blue, I find it odd the base game never uses that palette for an alt jersey. Wampum belt inspired colours would also be thematically awesome for Tecumseh's 'unite the peoples' playstyle but is maybe less associated with Tecumseh / Shawnee specifically.

And maybe some favourite colour bias creeping in here but damn I wish Ashoka WR had an orange colour scheme, I'm sad he got stuck with civ 6 India colours. Both to go with the brilliant orange turban he has in (noncontemporary) portraits, and also because of it being so strongly linked with Buddhist India with the saffron robes and such. I think a warm happy orange would make a great complementary colour parallel for peace Ashoka vs war Ashoka having the purple of an emperor.

Would also love to see your takes on the Himikos. While the Japanese white+red is certainly iconic I think it's a little impersonal seven games into the series. Perhaps a bit like your Pachuacuti sun god palette you could invoke a warm orange or sunlight yellow for Amaterasu, since some people interpret her as the mythological inspiration (and I think she has voice lines referencing her in the game). Or maybe now Ada is purple, Himiko can have that pastel pink - both as a lighter shade of that red madder root dye we're used to for Japan, and also to evoke the classic sakura cherry blossoms from her culture persona outfit.

But mod is amazing so far, I think its way better at making you feel like you're playing vs a character than vs a nation. Some of the base game colours are far too generic 'country flag' which I feel goes against the design ethos of 7. For example newest Ibn Battuta jersey is such a step in the right direction personality wise vs base game 'Islam' shades of green.

Great ideas!

The reason I haven't edited Tecumseh is because of Firaxis' close consultation with the Shawnee Nation. It hasn't been said explicitly, but there's a chance these were the colours chosen for Tecumseh by the Shawnee themselves. If so, I would rather not interfere with that - I think their agency over their symbolism is important. There is, however, the possibility they weren't consulted on the jerseys specifically. If someone knows one way or another that would be a huge help, but at present I'm erring on the side of caution.

That said: I love your idea for vermillion and silver. That could be really striking, and work well with Tecumseh's character model, too. A great suggestion!

I did consider orange for Ashoka, but I didn't like how it looked next to his kinda burgundy, dusty rose coloured clothing.

I have a suspicion, however, that we might be getting a strong orange colour scheme for a different Indian leader: Lakshmibai in the upcoming Right to Rule pack! I'm really excited to see how they depict her.

Himiko's one I'm struggling with, and I'm very much on the lookout for an alternative to the red-white. You're right that at present it feels too much like it's representing Japan rather than Himiko. Based on her character model I would go for an off-white/cream and red for Queen of Wa, but that might be too similar to Isabella. Perhaps something based on her bronze mirror could work? I'll experiment in the next update, probably on Tuesday.
 
Ahh, completely understandable leaving Tecumseh as-is. From what I remember from the stream Shawnee involvement seemed to be primarily at the concept art stage & language so my hunch is that the jerseys are Firaxis - but of course no way of knowing outside of asking someone involved. Re other mods mentioned, they swap Tecumseh's colours for the Shawnee palette already used in-game for the civilization itself - perhaps more "defendable" than my suggestion of inventing a whole new colour scheme from scratch.

I think you're right that the orange banner wouldn't suit Ashoka on the diplomacy screen - I'm just bitter they didn't give him a big orange turban to match hahaha. I didn't even consider orange Lakshmibai!

Ooh, the bronze mirror is an interesting direction for Himiko. José's gold would look good as a bronze but he's already got the white/cream covered! I think my suggestion for yellow Himiko is coming from Civ 6, totally forgot she was in that game too. I really like her alt persona's jade highlights as well - I wish we had more green leaders in the game. I'm a big fan of new Battuta, but it is a shame to lose our only proper green dude!
