Actually, yes. Sending Anansi to destroy Resources inside a major civ's territory generates 15 grievances for each resource destroyed.

Oh, didn't notice this at first. Well, at least we don't get to cheese it too much... But, if we destroy the Resources before the Borders expand...

Or, failing that, a safe use is to destroy bonus resources in CS territory, or in areas you'd never bother to settle--fish next to snow, etc. He's quite powerful.
