Never noticed since my last game but since you produce so much GP now and get 100 Gold all the time you use them its a nice all game long gold boost.
Even when you dont have quaris its still nice.

I like it, too. The +100 gold per expended great person really adds up.

I usually don't build it unless I have at least 2 or more quarries lying around.
That +2 gold per quarry can save your early game, tbh.
Two stone, one marble + 2 faith from quarries + mausoleum + Stone Works = well, extremely strong quarries.
And of course, the 100 gold for each GP is nice, but for me it doesn't make a huge difference.

I have found the religion bonus that gives +50 faith when a great person is expended to be quite nice, too. Especially come the industrial era when you're buying great people with faith - it's like a discount on your next purchase.

The AI is all to aware of these bonuses to go after at high difficulty levels.
Fail gold isn't worth it in early game.
