Maya - Antiquity Age Civilization

In the Central American jungles grew a series of city-states bound by alliances and a common culture—the Maya. They transformed a seemingly inhospitable landscape into a paradise of plazas, ball courts, and pyramids that rose out of the jungle to greet the open sky. But struck by climate and political crises, the Maya declined, and the land was once more covered by forest.

We're getting mines and other such military techniques? Interesting...

Is that 'Civic Trees' being unique a Mayan special ability, or do all civs have unique civic trees?
Didn't see mention of those in the preview.

Where is all this detailed civ showcase info coming from? I didn't realize they revealed this much info already

Is the leader Yuk'noom? Lady Six Sky?
it's been semi-confirmed that not all civs will have leaders, and that even if they do, civs and leaders are fully seperate entities and the only connection is that leaders will get a fast pass to converting to their corresponding civ.

from here

its pretty cool that they've already revealed this much. I hope we'll be gettign showcase videos out, though I'm going to miss the "___ leads ____ in Civilization" structure, seeing as some of these civs are not going to have leaders attached.

Indeed, it was the final tier promotion for scouts in Civ6.
haven't certain planes gotten stealth in civ 4/5? I don't fully rmeember tbh.

Indeed, it was the final tier promotion for scouts in Civ6.

Submarines in Civ5 are invisible until they attack, I remember that now

Geez…dunno how I forgot about my naval units getting this ability.

Never realized my recon units got it (I don’t think I ever promoted them that far, or dismissed it when they got it)

I think maybe I just overlooked it in my gaming because I mostly solo? Seems more valuable in multiplayer.

I guess it’s used mostly to get barbarians from chasing an advanced scout? By the time I would have leveled up a recon unit to tier 4, running from barbarians wasn’t a thing I was doing on the map anymore lol

Official German civ website about Mayans

Didn't see it in elsewhere so I lost and try to translate:
Unique: heaven over itzamna: palace gets additional science
Attributes diplomacy and scientific
Trees: Chacs rain: first level unique infrastructure "K'uh Nah" gets science for Adjacient vegetation tiles and opens the tradition "Pet Cot": That gives higher science yields on vegetation tiles in cities

Gods of Xibalba; level 1: unique infrastructure Jalaw: Hul'che and jaguar slayer get "camouflage" (?) on vegetation tiles - opens up the tradition "wonder of the twins"
Wonder of the twins gives units poison which means combat bonus against wounded units.

Calendar-Round: first level: for each tech researched you receive a small percentage of the cost as culture and vice versa (!)
Second level: higher settlement limit. Opens the traditions "Tzolkien calender" and "Haab" and there wonder Mundo Perdido.

Tradition Tzolkien calender: happiness buildings get science
Haab: happiness buildings get culture

Unique infrastructure for Maya's:
Uway'bil K'Uh (Quarter): tech gives a small percentage of production
Jalaw: Happiness base (?)
Unique civilian unit jaguar slayer ( not warrior!): replaces the scout - can place a singer trap on vegetation tiles which stops movement of enemy units and damages them. This ability has a cool down...

Unique military unit H'ulche: can see through vegetation and receives no movement penalty through vegetation tiles - ranged unit

Wonder Mundo Perdido: must be powdered on tropical tile, gives science. Mir happiness and science on tropical tiles in that city...

*Phew - that's a lot to digest ;)
No need to translate, there's an English version of the page.
