McCain fans, who do like for VP?

My own personal thoughts lie towards Colin Powell, who is the preeminent Republican today who garners my trust and respect above all other. That said, he might not be the greatest choice because he lacks domestic experience and is also quite old (70 I think).

An interesting choice would be Tom Ridge. Hailing from Pennsylvania, and a very popular former governor there, he could possibly bring that electoral prize McCain's way. Secondly, Tom Ridge has a good record of executive leadership on the domestic level. Thirdly, he headed up the founding months of the Dep't of Homeland Security, during a difficult time.

I'm an Obama supporter, but the name I've heard tossed around is Tim Pawlenty, Governor, R-Minnesota- I don't buy it. I think he could take a Huckabee, a guy who is more in touch with southern "true" conservatives, a guy who is much more convservative than he, younger, more charismatic, does well with the press..

That's just my guess.

I like Tom Ridge too. But he is pro-choice. And some people in the Republican Party make a big deal about that.

Someone who would be more of a burden to and hurts McCain's campaign. :p

Who has praised Obama and has said he is not sure whether he will vote Pub this year...

I'm going to be at a dinner where Colin Powell and Steve Forbes are speaking so I'll ask them. I think it should be Condi Rice.

I'm not a McCain backer, but i have to think he needs to pick someone who is far right and from the bible belt to generate voter interest.

he can't put a far right religious nut like brownback in the veep seat, because then pat robertson would call for mccain's assassination.

Thats the thing that turned me off from the Republicans, the far right religious and the neo-cons.

Bible belt states are already in the bag for McCain, despite the "not a true conservative" label. He's still way more conservative than Obama.

Tom Ridge would be a good choice. Pennsylvania is in play for McCain, and winning Florida and either Ohio or Penn is the surest way to victory.

Virginia sure as hell isn't in the bag anymore.

In the Primarys in Georgia there were actually more Democratic voters than Republicans, and this about as Republican country as you can get.
Just thought I'de throw it out there...

Anyway he should pick Huckabee, I wish he'd pick Ron Paul though:p

Yes but in Goergia around 40% of democrats are most likely to racist to vote for Obama.
