MD5 was fading anyway in favor of SHA-1, and it appears that the MD5 attack is for a flawed version of MD5 anyway. Unfortunately, SHA is also starting to show some weakness, and that is a very big deal.

Oh damn. Probably hundreds of different applications rely on MD5. Actually I have one of those running on my computer right now.
