A copy and paste job converting stock game's city graphics into an Ottoman/Middle Eastern/Byzantine fortress.
The Ottomans inherited and continued many things from the Eastern Roman Empire. Among them is architecture. By the high and late medieval period, the Eastern Romans have designed highly advanced fortifications that would go on to influence both Western Europe and the Middle East. One of the new features were arrow shaped walls and bastions that allowed for less dead space and better field of fire than both square and round ones. These give the fortifications a star shape:
The Ottomans upon conquering the Eastern Roman Empire would continue maintaining and improving its defenses during the late medieval period. Their fortifications were among the most advanced for this time, being built with gunpowder in mind. But soon the Ottoman Empire would find itself mostly on the offensive and finding little use for expensive fortresses. Ottoman Constantinople was never besieged, in contrast to earlier periods when the city was known to for it's fixed fortifications.
