Had to share this crazy start with you, rarely have I seen this much food.
So much Food0000.JPG
I did the obvious move to SE, to minimize sea tiles while keeping all the food, but that reveals even more fish.
Wait there is more0000.JPG
Starting save attached, Deity, BUFFY
Curious to see, how you guys deal with this abundance.

And we're on island of 22 tiles, with absolutely no production at all.
Tech path:
pottery, fishing, mining, BW?

edit: on second thought, as we have no production, fishing needs to come only after BW.

What kind of map script does that?

I think you should SIP or 1N to gain easy access to the island.

Spoiler :
Settler at 4, 2-pop whip, start another and 1-pop it when available. 2nd city whips boats. Ready to get off my island quickly.

To me this is the best way to settle, 4th on 2nd incense obv. Wonder what the newer ewer settle on resources guy would think of this!

Yep, I settled on all the visible resources, except I started with the fish site.
Hmm, I never noticed that gold island. Of course my second city (your capital) only had it borders pop like 10 turn ago after I spend some time in caste. Time for another settler.

You can see it already from the starting screenshot! 2NW of rice has a yield which means there is more land.

The problem is the AI will be limited to 2-3 cities unless they settle islands. Not sure the AI handle islands great albeit they will probably try to spam cities but ultimately will be very poor at defending them or creating any attacking threats.GLH will obviously be good here.

Okay deity level so capturing GLH will be best option here.

That's wild.

Spoiler Map commentary :

All that desert, and only 1 tile that I can see that has neither a floodplain or a resource on it. I love FP but hate dealing with the desert that surrounds them.
