I have an old laptop, which runs Windows 98. I am having trouble getting a memory stick to work on it, even though the memstick is supposed tobe compatable.

When I plug in the stick, the telltail light comes on, but it doesnt show up as a drive. When I try to add it as a device, the "Wizard" doesnt recognize the type of devise and wont load the driver. It sends a message that reads "no driver found at this location." The documentation is weak. It just tells you to do what I discribed.

The result is an "Unknown Device" which cannot be used for storage. Is there someway to go around the stupid wizard and install it as a removable disk drive?

You ever need an driver to install a stick on Win98. Follow the setup of your manufacturer CD and it should work.

I did use the CD, and it did not work, hence the post.

There is a USB controller, but it wont recognize the USB device. When I direct it to the driver on th e CD, it says driver not found.
