It is summer here in the Northern hemisphere and people are wearing flip-flops and sandals. How do you feel about grown men wearing flip flops? How about other types of sandals?

Flip flops (thongs in these parts) every single day in the warmer months, I love my thong callus.The tattier the better. Designer thongs are lame, as are any form of sandles.

I don't care what anybody thinks. I'm a grownass man, it's hot outside, and Im going to wear shorts and flip flops. Nothing you can say is going to change my mind. It's too hot for sneakers.

Although Jesus probably wore something a bit similar to them, i very rarely wear anything of the kind. In fact only if i am at some beach resort, and never in the city.

Where in the world is it considered unseemly for men to wear sandals and flip flops? I don't think I've been there. Sandals aren't the coolest thing on earth, but it's not worse for men than for women, is it? And flip flops??? I wear sandals on work, when I feel for it. Even flip flops(although walking 7 km to work in them is a it tiresome).

Honestly, I get a bit upset, when people even consider that things like that are "unsuitable" for men.

ugh, I can't believe all you guys wear sandals/flip flops in public? No one wants to see your hairy feet. I consider feet to be kind of dirty, and I think it's unhygenic to be exposing them to everyone else.

And don't give me the heat B/S. I live in the desert. It was 110 yesterday, and I still wore sneakers and socks. And long pants, along with a t-shirt, and a button up shirt over it. We have a thing here called air conditioning. And frankly, most businesses keep their places so cold, you can't go around wearing shorts and thongs or you'll freeze to death. Only over weight people get hot where I live.

And keep in mind in the Middle East they wear long garments over their entire bodies, they don't wear shorts. I don't care to see hairy legs and feet. I'm sorry. I think only women should be allowed to wear shorts and thongs.

Yes I'm one of those types who thinks it's appropriate to dress nicely. It's disrespectful to your company to dress like a bum.

I couldn't imagine wearing a flip flop outside my home or yard. It's gross. My feet aren't attractive enough for people to be seeing. They are white, and I want them that way because the sun is very unhealthy. And you guys are exposing massive parts of your body to the harmful rays of the sun? Don't any of you care about skin cancer?

What happens when your flip flop breaks when you are miles from home? I had one break, and it was unusable after that. It's just a cheap rubber thing on the bottom. They break fairly easy. What do you do then? Hop home?

And what if you get attacked. I live in a city with a very high crime rate. I need to be ready to run at a moment's notice. How can you run in flip flops?

I agree with this. I don't know much about style, but flip flops just look cooler.

I understand. I am lazy, of course, but not when it comes to things that matter. I do an eight-minute ab workout everyday; that's not lazy, and working out matters. My shoes don't matter, so I'll wear whatever I want.

As an American, I would be doing my family a great dishonor if I were to forsake my flip flops and sandals.

As a pale young stud, I need all the sun I can get. My feet are pretty enough. Forgive me if I doubt I'll get skin cancer from wearing flip flops.

That did happen one time. I walked home with a flip flop in a hand and the other on my foot. I looked an awful fool. That's why one should replace one's flip flops when they start falling apart.

I don't walk through the woods by myself. I go to quite a public and very popular park. I'll take the risk. =)
