Hi!
As I travel a lot for work and spend a lot of nights in hotels I usually use that time to indulge in my Civ addiction. I play Warlords from a USB memory stick (doesn't work with BTS unfortunately) on my work laptop (it's just a straight copy from the Firaxis directory on my computer at home).
Yesterday a funny thing happened. I played as normal, then shut down the computer to go for dinner. When I restarted everything after dinner the game wouldn't load initially.
I tried again, and this time the game loaded but with some strange issues. The border around menus (including the initial start menu) and the background to menus seems to have dissappeared. This includes the start menu (e.g. the first menu when you have started Civ), all in game menus and the HUD (game controls at the bottom of the screen in-game). Things like the +/- buttons for specialists and tax rate and the buttons for the advisors have all dissappeared as well.
I'm guessing this is due to some file being corrupted - does that make sense?
If so, could someone email the relevant file to me? I was planning on just redoing the copy on to the USB when I get home, but in the meantime I'm kind of stuck with a very exciting game of Civ just waiting to be finished...
Cheers!
