Merge CIv Gold 3.0 with VDRN?

I am banging my head against a brick wall here.

Is there anyway to get CIV GOLD 3.0 to work with another mod or something like VDRN specifically?

I've tried and tried and it just will not work. Actually whenever I put a Civ mod in a modules folder of another mod it crashes when I meet that mod(civ) or I think if I play as that Civ I get pink squares on banners/interfaces etc.

I'm not really 100% understanding XML etc. But I've tried to follow some stuff but it never quite works.

Tried to get Austria, Civ Gold 3.0, Nazi Germany, Sweden-Norway, Huns, Israel all to work at some point with VDRN and Revolution mods as I enjoy these mods but want more Civs....

The XML work required is much more complicated than you are portraying it. You have to edit multiple XML files.

I would suggest posting/looking in the Modding tutorials and reference forum for more information.

It's likely you're getting duplicate tags with things like colours. Also, not all files are modular (like diplomacy) so that may be generating errors as well.

I'm on the road right now, so unfortunately I can't look into it in any detail.
