I'm impressed that Strawmania's held up so long. It never seemed to have the popular appeal of Strawmanbearpig and Haystack. Yet it's now in the lead! (Barely)

With no choice likely to receive a majority vote, will we see a coalition?

    Strawmaniabearpig?
    Haymania?
    Haymanbearpigstack?

If you include all the threads about the naming itself:

Haystack has been referenced in 10 threads.

Strawmanbearpig: 3 threads (all of them about the naming contest)

    Strawmania: those same 3 threads.

Looks like the people have already decided. Haystack is the only term that's already been used outside the naming-contest threads.

Like I said in the primary poll thread... polls don't change people's behavior.

The pointlessness and lack of authority of this poll amuses me more. :mutleychuckle:

The way Fifty has manipulated his own choice Strawmania into this final poll amuses me most.

You don't want Abaddon's offering to be selected? I hope you aren't letting irrational thoughts sway you from the best and most rational choice. ;)

Perf presented a "reasoned" approach to why he choose as he did. But as far as Haystack is concerned he stated that he was swayed by "personal reasons" to not vote for it. I believe he is letting his emotions (which are irrational) affect his decision on which is the best choice.

I feel it is my duty to "poke" Perf when he lets irrationality affect his decison making. In the long run it builds my case that reason is simply a tool that people sometimes use when it is convenient and useful, but mostly we are guided by our irrational selves.

    Profundity level: ;) ;)

EDIT: I vote we close the polls and declare a winner.

Everything is driven by intuition when you get far down enough, that doesn't mean that your cruddy views of the universe are intellectually coherant or valid.

I actually have expressed numerous times that I like them all. Strawmania is my favorite, but I would be pleased with any of them.

If I didn't want this to be democratic, I'd make strawmania win. ;)
