Just thinking ... and I'm not sure how easy your programme is to use.

An option for the final reel could be to use the movie that is created by the game it's self ... sort of a summary ... the one that shows a small version of the map and on the side screen shows what has been founded and built within each city.

Also what about having a screen that says ... While the rivals concentrated on training military, MIA hired workers, workers and more workers ... and then show the military screen that shows the number and type of each unit.

DL probem with updated version of Chapter 1 now fixed  You are sure having fun experimenting with the fade in and out effects

Actually ... what programme are you using to create these masterfull works ???

@Dutchfire - It is Windows Movie Maker I'm using – it's a great program, easy to use, (and FREE!) but it's kind of limited in it's ability – hence my trouble with the text on some screens.

I'm using a different program (WaveLab) to edit sound files and I'm also editing some of the pictures in MSpaint. So it's quite a lot of work!
I did a lot of sound editing for chapter 3 – but I think it came out really nice… timing is very dramatic, I think.

Anyway – tips and feedback are always appreciated!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Motivates me to keep going! :)

I can't send the full high-resolution files to our gmail account, because it won't take more than a 10MB file.

So I found this free file hosting site.

Let me know if this works for you?

    Here's a link to download chapter 1:
    http://www.mysharefile.com/v/2138029/MIApart1_BirthofaNation_alt.wmv.html

(You have to wait like 10 seconds before the "download file" link becomes active)

:bump: Used my break today to update the history through turn 200.

    Enjoy!

Now we're just waiting for Victory, so I can write the final chapter!

ok - so I think I've got video #4 pretty well on it's way.

But as I start to assemble stuff for the final video (#5) I'm having a dilemma.

I'm not sure if I want to score it with some kind of epic/victorious music (think "Return of the King" or the theme from "Jurassic Park") or if I want to go with a more flag-waving nationalistic kind of piece – like from Independence Day or Apollo 13.

    What do you all think?

I like the idea of an epic - after all, Civilization is an Epic story, is it not?

Thanks for the feedback! I think I've got the song I need!
    :salute:

I'm close to finishing chapter 4, but I really need a screenshot of the F-11 screen from turn 194.

I can't get it while I'm at work - if someone can get that for me, I'll finish chapter 4 today and post it.
Otherwise, it'll have to wait till tomorrow.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

Well, I didn't get the F-11 screen from anyone, but I went ahead and finished video 4 anyway.

It's the biggest video yet! Some of the text goes by a bit quick, but the video was becoming too long!

    Hope you enjoy!
Only 1 chapter left to go!

CITYNAME (Ungaurded) ... should be Unguarded

Also the Black Writing is difficult to read ... but that may be just me

    very nice done General_W! :)

just one minor suggestion: instead of "pirates making trouble", i'd change it to "pirates causing trouble".
