At long last. It's been a while, but it's happened - I've carried on with this game! It's gotten interesting since the last update (which was, like, ages ago). So here goes...
------------------------------
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION & THE BIG 3
------------------------------
Lets bring you up-to-date. At the point of revisiting the game, my zones of control were:
Middle East, from Iran to Istanbul
Balkans
Berlin
France
Ukraine
Samarkand (Russia)
Egypt
Baku
-------
Then I start. First of all by making some political moves. After talking to some of the other civs, I ended up in 2 mutual protection pacts. One with China, the other with America. This was ideal because both off them had the same pact between them. I guess we were The Big 3.
After this, I decided to declare war on the Russians. This was the start of what became a very long war. Not only was it a long war, it was also the most destructive one, as a good 90% of the cities involved were razed.
Not only did Russia suffer the long, painful war with me. Also, India, Germany, England, Zululand and Japan. The only ones that didn't lose cities the same way as Russia were Japan, England and Germany, as their territory was already well out of reach. As for India and Zululand, they also lost many cities.
By the end of the war, many cities were lost (with the exception of some). There are now, in these sites, just old railroads, mines, and irrigation ditches. And they cover a large area. Most of Northern Africa from Sudan to Ethiopia has been cleared of cities, a huge chunk of Siberia has been eliminated, the only city that remains in India is Delhi.
To make the war more interesting, I have a long way to go before I can build nuclear weapons. The entire war was fought using regular tanks, artillery, cavalry, cannons, bombers, and jet fighters.
Another thing I thought worked out well in this war was the arrangement of alliances:
#1
Babylonian
American
Chinese
Aztec
#2
Indian
Zulu
Russian
German
Japanese
The alliance I was part of proved the most successful. All opponents, except the Zulus, are now very tiny civilizations. Zululand is still reasonably large, however.
----------------------
For now, that's pretty much it. The entire game lasted a good 12 hours (my day was free, hehe), and was well worth it. I managed to start on my conquering of the world. Once I get modern technology, things will get even more exciting.
