Introduction

In this world of Terra, the peoples try to go on with their lives after the 8-year-long Great War that ended 2 years ago. This is a world that knows about nuclear weapons, but never has one been fired. This is a world where four political blocs dominate the scene, attempting to make the most of the situation. 12 great nations dispute for power in Terra. The technology is similar to that of our world in the 1950s.

It is in one of this nations, Noropini, where this game is set. Being a nation where, fortunately, no battle was fought, it is nonetheless in a state of disrepair due to the bombardments done on their territory. The government has thus decided, through a series of laws, to promote the creation of Corporations, led by private individuals, so that they start to organise the recovery of the industry of the nation, as well as to give jobs to all the soldiers that fought in the war and then came back.

You, the player, are one of these corporations. Your task is, from a small-sized company, manage to create the greatest corporation ever through means of trade, deal, publicity and research. You will have to deal with other companies, your workers and the shareholders so that they work next to you. You will also have to play on the stock market in order to gain more benefits, to gain control of other companies and to expand your corporative holding. You will have to buy raw materials and sell finished products.

This is a war that is not fought with soldiers, but with executives. This is a battle that will be won by the one that negotiates the best. This is a confrontation that will ask that you support your best researchers.

This is Raw & Stock.

Popularity: 45%

Now, the explanation of each part (in the spoiler, so that you can pass over it without any problem):
Spoiler :
  • Mikkanan Incorporated/Milarqui
This is the Corporation's name and the player's name.
  • CEO: Mikka Hammerst
The in-game name of the CEO. Just for the stories and perhaps something else.
  • Headquarters: Trantor
Says where your corporation's headquarters are.
  • Corporation Stock: Mikkanan Company (75%), MatriMines (25%)
How much stock of your corporation's companies and other companies you have. This will also help me tell how much money you are winning. Everyone starts holding 100% of your starting company's shares.
  • Subsidiary Companies (Main Corp/Other Corps/Minor Stockbrokers) (Products): Mikkanan Company (75%/15%/10%) (Construction)
The companies that form part of your corporation. After each company's name come how the stock of that corporation is shared between your corporation, other corporations and the minor stockbrokers and what that company deals with. Only companies of which you control 51% of the stock or 51% of the company's council votes will be here.
  • Gross Income: 0 T/Quarter
Separated by company, the money the company earns per quarter through deals. The T (Taler) is the coin of the nation.
    Net Income: -70,075 T/Quarter
Separated by company, the money the company earns per quarter minus taxes, salaries and others.
  • Other Income: 10,000 T/Quarter
Money you earn through other means, such as government funding or shareholding benefits.
  • Account: 500,000 T
How much money you have in reserve. You should always have a healthy number in here just in case. Everyone starts with 1,000,000 T.
  • Stock: 200 Building Units
What you have holding in your storage buildings. It can be materials you need or the product you sell.
  • Properties: 1 Medium Warehouse, 1 Small Office Block, 1 Small Laboratory
The buildings your corporation has in total. Depending on the size of the building, it can hold a number of each kind of worker (and it will need the maximum to work at top output):
    Factories/Warehouses/Mines: Small - 100 workers+10 specialists, Medium - 300 workers+30 specialists, Large - 500 workers+50 specialists
    Office Block: Small - 5 executives, Medium - 15 executives, Large - 25 executives
    Laboratories: Small - 5 researchers, Medium - 15 researchers, Large - 25 researchers
Everyone starts with 1 Small Factory, 1 Small Office Block and 1 Small Laboratory.
  • Workers: 300/30/5/5
How many workers of each kind (workers/specialists/executives/researchers) your company has. Normal workers just make the products you sell, specialists do the same as normal workers but may also be used for special things (architects in a construction company, for example), executives are used to lead factories and companies and make deals, and researchers may be used to investigate ways to improve the quality of your products. Everyone starts with 100 workers, 10 specialists, 5 executives and 5 researchers (enough to fill your starting buildings). The number of specialists can never surpass a tenth of the number of workers.
  • Workers' Ability: 4/3/2/4
How good the workers are in their jobs. The higher the ability, the more and better they work and the more money you will have to pay them to keep them happy. Each level over 1 allows workers, specialists and researches to increase their output by 20%. The ability is supposed to be the same for all your companies. Everyone starts with the abilities at 1/1/1/1.
  • Total Salaries: 68825 T/Quarter
The total salary you have to pay to your Workers. Depending on what they do and their ability, each worker has a salary. There is a minimum wage of 100 T/Quarter, although, generally, each worker earns the following:
    • Normal Worker: 150 T/Quarter*(1+0.1*(NW Ability-1))
    • Specialist: 200 T/Quarter*(1+0.1*(Spec Ability-1))
    • Executive: 250 T/Quarter*(1+0.1*(Exec Ability-1))
    • Researcher: 250 T/Quarter*(1+0.1*(Res Ability-1))
You are welcome to try to pay them less. If it is a one time event or the company is at a hard time and you explain it well, they may accept it. If it goes on for too long, they will go on strike.
  • Projects: Small Iron Mine (500/1000), Steelized Cement (35%) (6,000/40,000 T)
States what you are doing in the moment. Normally, it will only be what is being researched in your labs, but for some, it may also show other things that your company is doing.
  • Patents: Carbon Microtubes (makes better quality buildings) (3/10)
Anything your researchers have investigated may be patented to prevent other companies from using it. It costs some money to keep the patent, and it only lasts 2 years and a half in the game (10 turns), but that patent gives your corporation exclusive rights over its use.
  • Deals: Small Iron Mine for 500,000 T for Autumn 1951 (MatriMines), 400 Building Units/2,000 T per quarter (Menister Co.)
Any deals you do with other companies and corporations will be shown here.
  • Popularity: 45%
This will vary. Depends on your products' quality and your executives' ability. The higher it is, the more chances you will have to close good deals with other companies.

Building costs
There are two ways to get a building: one of them is to buy it, already done, to the Government (due to the war, they nationalized loads of factories or some explanation like that), or you may ask a Construction Company to build it for you. The former gives you the building now, but it costs a lot, while the latter costs a bit less, but it takes some time.

I know that I have put some prices in the Pre-thread, but now I realise that I will have to raise the Government's prices so that the costs for the Construction Company may be compensated.
Building: Small/Medium/Large
Factory: 600,000 T/ 1,200,000 T / 1,800,000 T
Office Block: 300,000 T / 600,000 T / 900,000 T
Laboratory: 900,000 T / 1,800,000 T / 2,700,000 T
Laboratories cost more because the Construction includes the many security systems they require and the computers et al required by the researchers.

Stock Market
The Stock Market is shown in the third post.

Each company has 10,000 shares in total (ALL of them). The shares represent the level of control a corporation has on a given company (a 0.01% per share). Shares also give its controller a percentage of the Net Income equal to their control of the company (e.g: the Controlling Corporation has 70% of the shares, the Other Corporations have 20% of the shares and the Minor Investors have the remaining 10% of the shares of a company: if that company's Net Income reachs 100,000 T / Quarter, then 70,000 T will be gained by the Controlling Corporation, 20,000 T by the Other Corporations and 10,000 T by the Minor Investors. (Meaning, the more shares you have on a company, the more money you win with them) Of course, if the company doesn't win money every quarter, then no one gets anything.

You can sell shares in order to make money, but be careful of how many shares you sell, or you may find yourself losing money.

Government can also sell Treasury Bonds in order to make money. They are a very secure investment in that they are unlikely to go bankrupt, but one makes few money with them.

The shares of each company will have a price. This price will be set by me, and it will then depend on many things:
  • Offer/demand: the most classical example of how the market works. The more shares there are in the market, the less they cost, and the more people that want to buy shares, the more they cost.
  • Company success: the better a company is doing, the higher will be the shares' prices.
  • Deals: if you make a deal with a successful company, your shares will raise.
  • Rumours: this can be initiated by you (it costs money to pay someone to do this, and the higher your executives' level is, the better the chance is) or can be random events. For example, you may start rumours of some corporation attempting a takeover of a company you own (but that has Minor Investors and still has shares on the market), then the shares of that company would rise as people want to buy them before the public offer of acquisition is made.

A takeover of a company can be done by buying 51% of the shares, or convincing the Minor Investors to work with you in giving you the control of their council votes and attempt to reach the desired 51% between your shares and that of the council. That would, virtually, allow you to disengage that company from the corporation that is controlling it right now and have it become a part of your own corporation.

A corporation that finds itself without money may declare themselves in a bankrupt. In that case, the shares of the company/companies controlled by the corporation will be sold at a price high enough to pay all the workers of the companies one or two salaries and any debts they may have with banks or other corporations.

If you feel risky, you can attempt to engage in the short selling of shares. If you have seen Dan Aykroyd's and Eddie Murphy's film Trading Places, you might understand how this works: Short selling is, basically, promising to sell a number of shares you don't have yet at a certain price, and then buying them at a different price. Of course, this has the huge risk that, if the shares you buy end up being at a higher price when you do that, you may get ruined. (It's also how Le Chiffre, the blood-crying banker from Casino Royale, invests the money that is given to him by terrorists. Of course, he uses illegal methods to do this, such as short selling the shares of an airplane company and then paying a man to put a bomb on the trial test of a new airplane designed by said company, which would make the company's shares' price plummet)

Noropini
Noropini is the nation where the corporations will play on. You may attempt to make deals with other nations' government, but beware, as those nations may be enemies of your own nation and your government may punish you for dealing with the enemy. Just think of it as if an US weapons company tried to make private deals with the USSR government to sell them machinegunes.

You can see the results of the world building (developed by Haseri) in the attached Word Document "MilarNES World Building". The nation of Noropini is shown in the attached Word Document "MilarNES Noropini". The map of Noropini with the names of the cities (one of them will have your headquarters) is also attached.

Advice:
- Depending on what you do, the money you earn will differ. Construction companies will mostly gain money by making buildings, but that will normally only happen when the building is finished. Most of the others, particularly the raw materials producers, will be able to receive an steady income of money, but that quantity of money will be much smaller than what the Construction companies make.
- At the start, researchers won't be very important, but as you advance in the game, their work will result extremely important in order to develop new things that will aide you in creating better products that may help you advance against other corporations.
- Do not buy buildings until you can be sure you will be able to staff them wholly. It can be disastrous to expand and then realise that you can't pay everyone.
- Don't think executives are useless. As their ability grows, they will be able to get you better deals (in player vs player deals, there will be a small benefit in the deals for the one who has the better executives) and your publicity will have better results.
- Stories are welcomed, but too many stories are not. One or two stories, for example, a worker's point of view on their work and a publicitary campaign on the radio as heard by someone, can work very well for you.

Orders:
I want to see the orders like this:
PM Title: [MNES3: R&S] (Corporation name), (Season), (year)
Stats: All of them, so that I may organise this better.
Spending: On what you spend your money (of course, this doesn't count the money from the salaries and deals). You may set a quantity of money on projects or on buying shares.
Deals: if you make any deals, you show them here. You have to state what you give and what you receive with the deal, and whether it is a one-time deal or a quarterly deal.
Projects: if you start a project (i.e: having your researchers start investigating something), you must say what you attempt to achieve with it.
Other: anything else that doesn't go in the other parts of the orders.

I'm here and ready to play.

Baum Motors is going to break into your house and wreck sh- I mean...sell you cars at affordable prices. Yeah, that's it...the car selling thing.

Mann Co here.

Can you make a fill-able stat so I could write in and join?

As a question before- does the country has any diamond, gold or/and other luxury raw materials sources or those must come from other countries?

Can you make a fill-able stat so I could write in and join?

As a question before- does the country has any diamond, gold or/and other luxury raw materials sources or those must come from other countries?

Fill-able stats can be seen in the end of the OP.

As for the question: I'm not sure about it. My guess is that there would be some in the south (the mountains), but several of those are volcanoes, so I'd say that there wouldn't be much, because, as far as I know (if someone corrects me, it'd be good) volcanic regions aren't rich on luxury raw resources. Suggestion: join as a tobacco corporation, Luckymoose will need some competition in this game. (Just a suggestion, I don't want you to feel forced to do anything I say)

factory=workshop
research center=laboratory

diplo to country:
Our country, like any other, needs the luxury goods that shows our might. Every couple need a diamond and gold ring to show their love, every lady needs a necklace. We request from the state to allow us to work with other countries in order to import cheap raw resources for our workshop and growing corporation.

Do we know our production capability? If I want to engage in business talks with Charles Li, per example, I need to know how much coal I can provide. And whether there are more favourable customers :mischief:

Well, I guess that production would vary depending on what you do, exactly. For example, a company that deals with obtaining raw materials could go at a 1 worker-5 units and 1 specialist-10 units rhythm, but then a company that transforms those raw materials into manufactured products could go at 1 worker+1 raw resource-1 unit and 1 specialist+2 raw resources-2 units. It depends a bit on what you do.

Examples:
A mining company has 200 workers and 20 specialists, both at ability 3. They extract coal. One worker extracts 7 units of coal per quarter, and 1 specialist extracts 14 units of coal (each ability level over 1 will allow the worker to produce a 20% more). In total, that would be 1400+280=1680 units of coal.

A fundry with 300 workers and 30 specialists (ability 4) buys 1200 units of coal and 1200 units of iron to make steel. 1 worker uses 1.6 units of coal and 1.6 units of iron to make 1.6 units of steel, and 1 specialist uses 3.2 units of coal and 3.2 units of iron to make 3.22 units of steel. That allows them to make 576 units of steel spending 576 units of coal and 576 units of iron.

A car factory with 200 workers and 20 specialists (ability 2) buys 500 units of steel (we won't count the rubber to simplify this). 10 workers use 12 units of steel to make 6 cars and 5 specialists use 12 units of steel to make 6 cars. Thus, by spending 288 units of steel, 144 cars are made.

To make sure no one turns all of their workers into specialists, the number of specialists will always be equal or less to a tenth of the workers.

P.D: Sorry for this, but I'm making this as I go. As you can see, I don't have everything worked out.

I'm not sure making rings and necklaces is chemistry really :p. I need raw materials from those who deal with it, but I don't think Jewelry making itself is a chemistry. It more like Tobacco industry - in that that both produce luxury goods.

Well, my opinion is that you use minerals and stones to make the jewelry, and the mining is what provides that jewelry to you, so I decided to put you in Chemistry next to the miners. Tobacco is just for companies and corporations that deal with tobacco growing and manufacturing.
