Do you think the maintenance of military units is too high?

Do you think the maintenance of military units in Civilization IV BtS is too high?

I have INCREASED the costs of some select units in the late game (iExtraCost in Civ4UnitInfo.xml is extra gold cost per turn).
Gunship, Carrier, Missile Cruiser, TacNuc: 1 gold
Stealth Bomber, Battleship, ICBM: 2 gold

With guided missiles adding to your unit count, I think it's quite appropriate for the extra expense they incur.

Before BtS I had doubled the cost of units (iUnitCostPercent in Civ4HandicapInfo.xml 100 instead of normal 50). Have left it at 50 for BtS.

I hadn't thought to compare the difference between Vanilla and BtS maintenance, but in my mod I cut out the free support from population and increased the base cost per unit. I probably should tweak the extra cost to make later units cost more, as I did in the old version of my mod.

Here is another question to throw into the thread. Should non-military units count towards the total upkeep cost for military units.

Unit support cost is actually quite reasonably, maybe even a bit on the low side...unless you're running Pacifism.

To cheap IMO. You already get a discount over the AI (half at noble, only at diety you do pay full price) so you as big as some AI SODs get, yours could be up to twice as big for the same price (upgrading its a different matter). And with aggresive AI most AIs unit cost usually doesn't go much higher than 30GPT (before inflation) in my games. And AFAIK non military units do count (I captured a bunch of workers using woodsmen2 units and they were costing me a pretty penny).
