Missing diplomacy text! World leaders gone mute! Help!

Well, now I've gone and done it. World leaders simply won't talk to me. All I get is this text-less screen, even when there are offers included, which I have no way to accept without text:



I'm playing a clean install of Civ4/BTS on Windows Vista, with the exception of some minor fumbling around trying to get BUG/BULL set up. I initially copied the BULL files wrong, but I don't think I overwrote anything. Still, this has got to be my fault.

Can anyone diagnose this for me? Otherwise, it looks like I'm just going to have to do a complete reinstall.

Did it do it before you installed BUG/BULL?

I don't use BUG/BULL, can you run it without them? If so does it still do it?

Did you install by right clicking on the setup files and patches and choosing run as administrator?
