Why am I thinking about all the subsequent law suits first rather than all the people who were injured? I know for a fact that bridges can collapse if they are neglected. but I guess that's sort of irrelevant now. Here's to hoping the lot of the people over there are rescued in time.

edit: At 6:05 pm? Wow, that was only six minutes ago...* (ugh)

I don't know if that's CST, or the EST that I'm in.

The pictures are horrifying. Luckily my girlfriend and her parents work in Savage and live in Scott County, but one of her cousins does live in the city, so she's calling around now.

We seem to have a good number of people from Minnesota or connected to it on OT, so check in.

MNDOT had been working there all summer...and the bridge also fell onto a road (I'm unfamiliar which one) on one side of the river.

All the children from the school bus nearby seem to have survived.

That seems to be the latest.

No wonder this looks familiar...I'd been home hunting in an area not far from there in advance preparation for the if/when move to the area.

Well Ama works somewhere in the U and lives on IIRC the West Bank, he'd probably take the washington avenue bridge but it's possible he takes 35W.

From the news is saying it collapsed on cars below the bridge. I heard there was construction on the bridge, it may of weaken the bridge some how.

Well, everyone seems to be accounted for in my clan, except for one, but it is highly unlikely she'd be in that area.

Amadeus might just be stuck in the traffic, though I didn't know he worked in the area. Well, check in if you're around.

Is this the part of 35W that overlaps with highway 10? A couple years ago I went to Anoka a few times and remember travelling on 35W for a little bit. I can't remember the exact route, but it seems like I took 94, 694, 35W then 10, does that sound right to go from Wisconsin to Anoka?
