I have been exploring the possibilities of AW combined with 1CC. We are about to win at Noble with the Persians and I want to try at Prince.

    Settings are:

    AW
    No Barbs
    1CC
    No Tech Trading
    Standard Pangaea
    Epic Speed

We are the Incans and the start is shown below. I played it out a bit and we will have access to a metal.

I’m not sure if this is doable and it is not for the faint of heart. We need to knock out the nearest civs ASAP with Quechas and hope we can hang on and take out the rest.

Why knock out the nearest civ with OCC? I'm confused, won't that just make one really strong neighbor?

Incidentally, I'm interested, but I've never won an OCC, and I've never played All-War (is that what AW means?) Current play level is prince.

I’m afraid you’ll need some AW experience for this one. Knock out the nearest neighbors to have less civs to deal with. Other civs get suppression. The other civs cannot expand to too great a distance from their capitol because of cost so wiping out your close neighbors does not strengthen the other civs farther away.

 you 're crazy...to even beat AW at prince on standard pangaea is very difficult I'd say. No tech trading will make it a little easier, but still...and you're playing 1CC (is that 2 cities?)

    Not a sign up...

Having participated in the Massacre and Pendemonium, I can't possibly pass Insanity up ... :crazyeye:

Nope the 1CC box is checked. We will have metal. I'm not sure it is possible but 1 city can be very powerful and the quecha is great for supression against archers. We did it on Noble.

But I do think the difficulty goes up more steeply than simply Warlord -> Noble -> Prince in that: Keshiks are much stronger+faster than Immortals, and Immortals are much stronger+faster than Quechas.

Heh, I'm going to have to pass on this one. Too bad, really, but I have too much going on these days to play SG turns with any regularity. :(

Heh, an OCCQBR eh? (One Cit Civ Quecha Bum Rush)

Should be fun and I'll give it a whack if you'll have me. Haven't played an SG in nigh on 3 years but emp diff or AW don't scare me and I'm a monger at heart.

I tried this variant (OCC, AW) when I first got the game on settler difficulty, and it was one of the most fun games I've ever played. It's important to keep a few forests around the capital for defense.

I'm wondering if alexander would be a better choice? The Quechas are great (and maybe even necessary), but philosophical is so great with OCC.

OK, sign me up. This should be fun.

Rush to Drama fairly early, forget about war weariness?

After patch 1.52, when the AW option is set, the war weariness is calculated differently, and its effect would not be as significant in a non-AW game. SO, we need not worry too much abt WW in this game.

One way or the other, if we or the AI indeed survive that long, then yes, Drama is fairly important for a OCC, to get the Globe Theatre. But I think with AW, we would be prioritizing the military techs over anything else ...

I'd like to play if you would have me.
I've tried this game 3 times but with tech trading on and i always came a little short , killing 2 civs is rather easy but once the others get going and u get 3 SoD coming in constantly it gets extremly hard.
Despite the losses in these games they where a blast to play with somethimes dozens of fights / turn.
Are we making use of the balanced map?

OK I was starting to worry about getting a team for this one. I have tried this a few times and I must say that the key is to use the Quecha not to take cities early but to supress and maybe wack some wandering settlers. It is true that if you let more than 2 civs expand and develop you can't win. We will play standard pangaea but I will play ahead to make sure we will have iron. I really wish we could build colonies but w/o that this is the only way. General strat is to flood the continent with Quechas and try to supress expansion of as many civs as possible until we can take them out with swords and eventually cats.
