Does anybody know of any good, freeware mmorpgs? Because I really want to play WoW, but I don't have the money, and in the meantime, I want to play a fun online game of the same variety. Any suggestions?

There are no free ones as far as I know but if you have enough money to buy a regular game Guild Wars does not have monthly fees. http://www.guildwars.com/

Yeah, there are some, and I have Guild Wars, but I just don't like it that much. I know that there has to be some shareware/freeware stuff out there.

Anarchy Online is free without the expansions, I've it enjoyed for awhile now.

Conquer is free. I played it last year ago, but can't really recommend it. It's pretty straightforward Hack'n Slash with damn ugly graphics.

Before you buy it, you should be aware that they have recently come out with a stand alone expansion, called guildwars:factions.
Alot of players have migrated over to it, and you may not enjoy the original as much - and I have heard that factions isn't as good as the original from several people. However, there are also many people who really enjoy it.
I still havent made up my mind if I am going to get factions.

It really isnt that much money, Just one game and then tiny bi-monthly payments of 50 dollars. You hardly even notice also you dont need a credit card because you can use game cards. If i a poor new zealand boy can mange to find the 50 dollars every two months then surely a rich american can find 30 dollars every two months (Exchange rates mean i pay 50 you pay 30).
Its 50 cents a day half the price of those scam after african kids and its more fun than civ. If you do you should go to Scarlet crusade rhelm and pst greystar.

You know, I bet the price here in Canada is still like $40 or whatever, despite our dollar being worth 89c US. That is the main reason I will not play WOW, I am too lazy to get a job, plus exams are in 3.5 weeks.
