Mod Interface Ridonkulously Slow

So when I go to select a mod, deselect a mod, or update a mod, the interface literally locks up the computer for 40+ seconds. Opening a mod's info and returning to the list is unaffected.

It seems to be related to number of mods, as after I uninstalled/reinstalled onto an SSD, it didn't slow down at first, but slowed down more and more as I added mods. Since I like to play with a metric ton of mods, this is really hampering my pleasure in playing Civ5.

Am I the only one?

Is there anyone else seeing a slowdown with say 40+ mods that are seen in the interface (not selected, just available to select)?

Is there anyone that sees no slowdown, ever, no matter how many mods they make available/subscribe to?

Can anyone hear me? lol. I posted this on Reddit's /r/civ5 and it was all echoes of silence in there.

Awesome!

99 views and no one is willing to confirm or deny they have the same problem. I feel so lost and alone in the universe *sob*.

The more mods in your mods folder, the more the interface lags, but 40 seconds seems a bit long.

Thanks, Browd. Just knowing there's a slowdown for other people eases my mind. I'll start working on combining mods with whoward69's ModTools and see if that help any. Especially with civs and wonders, I can eliminate a large quantity issue. I really have too many, but am addicted.

Thank you again.

Two more things:

One, it slows down as mods are selected, not just from a large list of mods.

Two, I had way too many mods - 23 pages in the Workshop, 30/page.

So I wiped, cleaned out the mods I never use or will likely never use, reinstalled, and started adding back mods. I've got everything I like except civs & wonders added and it's at about 20 seconds/change. On the other hand, I selected some mods I'd not tried before and they're working together very pleasantly :)

It takes a while for my system to go from selecting a mod to setting up a game. Maybe 30 seconds. And I only have 4 mods available, but then I guess the game has to reconfigure the script?
