Here is the challenge from Civ games of old - can you win the game with just one city? You are given one settler in the beginning as per usual but you cannot build any more, nor can anyone else. No cities can be assimilated into another civlization by culture either.

The tech research has been accelerated somewhat so that you don't get bored. Also, on Chieftain level, the first six citizens are happy (instead of four), dropping one each difficulty level you go up until at Deity only the first citizen is content.

Great idea i always wondered what would happen with only 1 city
i havent played it yet but im expecting the best:nuke:

What a cool idea! Any way to maybe limit the amount of settlers to two or three???? A three city game would be Ideal.
Rock on man!!

Nice idea, but the whole 'challenge' aspect of the OCC idea is that although you have only one city, the AI civs can build as many as they want. Limiting them to one city as well would only make the game extremely easy, as they cannot possibly manage one city's production as well as a human can. And it's not impossible to win a OCC game even on Deity; a group of players did it back in April in the Succession Games forum. :)

The problem is trying to enforce or limit the human player to only one settler while the AI gets as many as it can. The only way I can think to do this is to pick one specific civilization (say, the Romans) and you have to pick this one. Of course, with the latest update to the editor, it is possible to enforce the civlization to choose. I might have another look at it.
