I do not know if I have posted this in the right place, so feel free to move if required.

Anyway, I am sick to death with civs that are friendly with me declaring war on city states that I have pledged to protect and am friendly with me, and I cannot request for said civ to make peace due to a 'permanent war'.

Could someone please make a mod to disable this 'permanent war' rubbish? It doesn't make any sense anyway. Why would a civilization with only one city, with an extremely weak military, refuse to make peace with a powerful city that could kill them with ease?

And why does a leader who is friendly with me declare war on a city state that is friendly with me and one that I have pledged to protect?

none of it makes any sense, and all of it makes the game far less enjoyable.

Sorry, Mod.

I saw this thread but did not see all the posts below it. I thought that in the creation thread you could only open the subfolders and did not notice the bit below.

Could anyone do this please? It is really ruining the game for me :(

But it does make sense... it's like the cold war. Usually city states won't make peace if they've gone into permanent war because a civ is picking off city states, at which point the various city states usually all become aggressive towards them.

Attacking your puny allies - like the cold war. Officially no aggression between the superpowers, even sometimes outwardly friendly, but weakening each other (or preventing the other getting stronger) by attacking weak allies.

Permanent war for city states - the dweebs ganging up on the bully.

Yeah, that would make perfect sense ... if the other CS's declared war too.

There is some other means in which a CS can be provoked into permanent war. I have no idea what it is.

A mod like this will probably have to wait, though. I don't see anything obvious which would allow this to be fixed without the C++.

Oh, that's a real shame. What's C++?

I just find that permanent war really ruins the feel of the game, and just shows how terrible the diplomacy is. It would make a lot more sense if someone who hated me declared war on the CS, but not one who is friendly with me.
