MOD Runtime Error

hey quickie here, i need help honestly. i am getting frustrated. i install a mod to the MOD folder. when the game goes to restart itself to play with the mod it say... then whatever runtime error. i need to know how to have this not happen anymore, thanks greatly.

Hi!
I have the same problem with some mods, e.g. Europe Mod 1.6 works fine, Europe Mod 1.8 and 1.9 and some others crash to desktop with the message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library
Runtime error!Program: ...warlords.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Has anyone got an idea what I could have done wrong???
