RUSSIAN AMERICA
Version 1.3 for Civ4:Colonization 1.01​

This mod adds Russia as a new playable nation and some useful modcomps.

Features

• Russian Colonies (New Russia)
  Expansive Trait: +50% Time between Tax Increases, +50% Travel Time to Europe
• Ermak - Cossack Ataman, Conqueror of Siberia (not America, but both New World and Wild East for Russia)
  Aggressive Trait: +33% vs. Natives, Free "Cossack" Promotion for Mounted Units
• Aleksandr Baranov - First Governor of Russian America
  Protective Trait: Free Warehouse in every Settlement
• Russian Empire and Tsar of Russia - Peter the Great leaderhead graphics borrowed from Civ4
• Russian Unit Order/Selection sounds from Civ4, Orthodox Cross for Russian missions
• Diplomacy Music: extracts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Modest Mussorgsky
• Intro Screen: "Ermak's Conquest of Siberia" by Vasily Surikov (1895)
  Loading Screen: "Russian Squadron on the Sevastopolskiy Raid" by Ivan Aivasovsky (1846)
• 3D LHs of russian leaders - Ermak and Baranov (charle88)

Colonies and Natives

• Portugal - borrowed from AOD2 and BtS, including graphics and audio components
• Maya (Natives) - borrowed from BtS, including graphics and audio components
• Inuit (Natives) - based on CIV Gold mod

Modcomps

• 3 new GameSpeeds: Blitz (150 turns), Slow (1800), Extended (3600)
• 3 new World sizes: XXL (66x100), Giant (100x150), Ultra (132x200)
• 2-Plots City Radius
• Abandon Colony - New option: Once City Screen is up, press CTRL+X to abandon the active settlement
• New Europe Screen (koma13) - new graphics, lift boycott option and other useful tweaks
• Financial Advisor (Melinko)
• Cheat Menu (Dale) - Use CTRL-Shift-Z to add money and to set AI Autoplay
• FaireWeather MapScript (cephalo) - Random map that simulates earth-like plate tectonics, geostrophic and monsoon winds and rainfall
• Main Screen Mod - Civ names in the Scoreboard, Attitude Icons (Porges)
• New Intro Music: "Coming home from the sea" by James Horner (Perfect Storm movie main theme)
• Static Leaders (optional) - animated leaders replaced by static images

Installation
- Delete previous version of the mod!
- Unpack to your [Col2 path]\Mods folder.
- Game Menu: Advanced--Load a Mod--Russian America

- If you wish to use Static Leaders, copy Extras/StaticLeaders/Art folder to RussianAmerica/Assets/XML.

Looks great, but there is one problem, this will not fit the Col timeline. Alaska was not discovered before 1741. This is at the wery end of the game, so the timeline does not fit at all. And the russian coast didn't give any easy seaway to colonize. So if you want a historical game, this should not be included. Or else i think it looks pretty great and the next now is animated LH's.

Yes, you are right about the timeline. So we need to add Siberia colonization to the game in order to make russian presence more historically correct.

But i guess it would be pretty easy to change the timeline to be longer, so we can add them. And we could add some new eras, like a new era called Warfere Era, to represnt the revolutions around that time. Also i could add some animated LH's for your Leaders. Maybe we could merge them into my Colonies of the New World Moderator Action: ? What do you think?

Moderator Action: Charle88 is making Baranov LH for this mod. Then we need animated Ermak. And I would be happpy if you find there anything interesting to merge in your mod.

As for new backgrounds, I like picture of old maps. That would be a good intro screen for a Colonization mod.

in my mod i used catherine, his son iguess was the colonizier of alaska, however you could add the inuit to the game

I like Ivan the Terrible LH, but pretty happy with Peter the Great as Russian King.

Next version of the mod features animated LHs of Ermak and Baranov. Thanks to charle88!
