I've always thought it was kind of lame that I can essentially play the game the same way, regardless of the type of civilization I am, religion, civics, etc. I think that it would be cool if in future versions there were more dramatic differences between civs, civics, and religions, that actually altered game play. Essentially up the bonuses and downfalls of everything, so I actually have a reason to play a spiritual or charistmatic or aggressive civ, or to use any of the useless late game civics.

I dunno, maybe it's just a balance issue or something, but I always find myself resorting to the same set of civics (secular, superhuman, beurocracy, liberal, fuedal, etc), because the others just aren't any good. An effort should be made to make them ALL good in some way.

i think the mod has put emphasis on realism rather than balance, altho i think it is well balanced.

Anyway i think civs (and also religions) have more to do with gameplay... i also find myself resorting to the same civics and tactics but my other friends play different and use different options...

in other words i blame your narrow minded gameplay for not utilizing this amazing mod's options. :goodjob:

I agree.

Most of us get comfortable playing a certain way and don't want to explore the "negatives" we percieve. But to challenge yourself you must step out of that comfort zone. Play that less than perfect path. From it comes eXpanded eXperience and a greater sense of accomplishment. Too many players that play the higher difficulty levels get caught up into the "winning" patterns and never explore the less traveled paths. So what if you lose a few games. If it gives you a new insight and eXpands your level of understanding then your pleasure thru accomplishment is enhanced. And that is why we all play the game.

i find the game doesnt typicaly offer too much feedback to even try a path that could lead to the fall of your civilization, in other words, no not really, changing to certain civics has little to any effect on your nation other than numericaly,

I find some of the abilities civ leaders gets aren't particularly balanced either, mostly because there are a lot of new 'type' buildings in one area, and few in another.
