ShaneTWiley and I are proud to present to you our Unofficial Balance Patch mod!
Like many of you, we've felt that certain imbalances in the current game pigeon-hole players into a certain play-style to be effective, especially in multiplayer. Specifically, most players tend to do science-focused cavalry timing attacks and ignore theater squares, navy, and most of religion with little variation.
We have played other popular balance mods, but have felt that the changes were too extensive and made the game much different than the game the developers designed. Ours was built with a minimalist design, adding counter-play and variety of strategy in many needed areas.
We think that most of you will love the changes, and we have many more ideas to make it better. But since this is purely a balance mod and not a total conversion, we rely on your feedback to make it better. Please do not hesitate to let us know your thoughts here on this subreddit or on the Steam Workshop page's discussion section. A more thorough description and change notes are posted on the mod page.
