ModBuddy not cooperating

I have a big problem with ModBuddy right now - when I try to run it, Windows User Account Controls asks for a password for the ModBuddy Updater, which then promptly proceeds to "stop working" without doing anything and close itself. Then ModBuddy loads and I get the following screen: (in spoilers due to image size)

I have a similar problem. When I open modbuddy from the SDK,it says that "updator has stopped working". then I get the start page for modbuddy, but it has a "content load error".
