I had an idea that for modded games such as the dyp mod players should have a few unique units with special abilities but with very high cost available only to the human player but let the ai build its own units at a much lower cost. For example you could have black-hawk attack helicopters but to offset this let the ai have tanks for half the cost. You could pit your better tech. against the ai numerical advantage to see who would win. The basic idea is to let the ai build its best units cheaper but to give yourself some very high tech units that they cant have......dread:goodjob:

Given the Civ3 combat system, the high-tech units would have to be a lot better than the cheapo units, or they will be swamped by weight of numbers.

Might make for some interesting scenarios though.

play deity, then relise that giving the AI a further discount n buildings a certain unit will result in the total destrution of your empire, no matter how powerful your extra unit is. youll have swarms of SoD's heading your way.
but on chieften / warlord it might make it more interesting though....
