Modding Help - Change difficulty settings depending on era

I want to make a mod that changes the difficulty and increases it every era. Poking through mods other people have made - it looks like I may be able to accomplish this by changing the advantages in the AI gets in antiquity_difficulties, exploration_difficulties, and modern_difficulties files?

Not really sure what I'm doing here exactly, but other mods I've seen on CivFanatics use those files when changing difficulty settings. So if I change the value of the bonuses the AI gets associated with each difficulty level for each of those files, will the AI get stronger every age?

Also is there any documentation about modding civ 7 anywhere? I haven't been able to find any and so I can only mess with things if I find someone who has done something similar and copy their approach.

Total noob on these forums, made this account just to post this question since I can't find info about how this works anywhere - any pointers or guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

I’m thinking of working on a mod like this next week (starting this Thursday night). Browsing the “Creation & Customization” part of the forum (you have to go up a level to the top level Civ7 page to see it) there are some good tutorials and examples. Hopefully, given these era-specific game files, this is quite a bit easier than making the Smoother Difficulty mod in Civ6 (I am not the author, but worked with it for my own games) where I think extra modifiers had to be created from scratch. I haven’t taken a close look at the tutorials yet myself. I’d be happy to work together if you want to PM me, or we could just coordinate through the thread I made in creation/customization, since many of our questions will likely be to the modding community.
