Modern Earth (Giant)

Hi Guys...

This is my first thread.

I was very excited by the prospect of the scenario. It sounds Very exciting [if finished], and felt compelled to comment.

A few things I think are worth adding:
1. bombardment from sea and land [this is a must]
2. air transport. Unlike Civ 3, you can only move troops via sea and land. Air transport, and the strategic power it gives nations with the capabilities is vital for making this realistic. it will also make warfare more realistic. I am not sure if you can include 'air bases' as well but again, makes the geo-political and strategic game more interesting.
3. Is it possible to add more dynamic trading options? perhaps trading machinery? or the rights to say the F22 [so e.g the UK can build it?]? Also perhaps play with the resource trading...not sure if its possible but would be cool to ban anyone trading uranium with N.Korea or Iran?
4. Can we extend the 'terrorist' units. CIA etc are a critical element of modern warfare, and having a 'clandestine' unit is essential for realism and gameplay. would it be possible to create a terrorist unit to act as Mi6 or CIA with more options? like recruiting enemy troops or something.

Just my thoughts.

On a final note, a question for anyone with this knowledge. if i download an additional MOD does it interfere with other MODS and games I have?

Thanks

Thanks for you comments ... this is a huge project.

There is a lot to consider

Indeed it is a monumental project! But one me and many other hope you complete!! would be great scenario.

Where you up to on your below phases?

1: Populate the Cities with correct buildings
2: Complete Terrain Improvements
3: Populate with units - Beta Relase
4: Naming all units - Full Release

I havea couple of major Real Life issues at the moment so this is paused at the moment.

The answer to the last question is no, if you install everything correctly. As for #4 -- there is a good unit already that does what you want -- Special Forces is the name, click on my signature for more info about the mod it comes from...

i think there are so many nuclear wars in the future. is there any good idea?

for example nuclear cost is very high.

kiwitt said it was paused so probably not.

Looking to restart development very soon. Will spend the next few days looking at where I am up to and see if anything needs to be done, before I start placing over 5,000 units.

Looks like I had just started on adding unique buildings, starting at Apothecaries.

Worse still, my second screen has gone and will need to be repaired, means I will have to flick between reference screens, as opposed to looking at two screens at once.

Got my second screen @ 24" to complement my 26" so development is now at full speed again.

Just finishing off the remaining cities, now.

Does this mean that there would be an Alpha SOON???
At least to check it somewhat, even if some tweaking would be needed later on.
Cause the RAM requirements and so on, should be alpha-checked ASAP...

Agreed. I'll post a link to the Alpha in the OP when I have added the 5,000 units.

Success: The cities have had all their populations editted safely via notepad. Just a few minor details to go and then start adding more cities.

Should I leave the cities production queue empty or set all 1100+ to Wealth? I am considering the former.

I have decided to place and name all the 5,000 units. It will take about 10,000 minutes or around 200 solid hours of work over the next 4-5 weeks. As I need to go to the effort of finding where the forces are deployed, I might as name them as well.
