I am going to be posting modern infantries of Asia and maybe Oceania. The unit types will be Infantry, Paratrooper, Special Forces, Marine, Machine Gunner, and RPG. Each country will not have all of these, it would take too long and many might look too similar to send time rendering. Some countries may only have one of these (or none)
Thanks to Ares de Borg for helping me with sounds and PCX. Kinboat, UtahJazz, Gary Childless for providing props. All of the units have camouflage from Camopedia.

Looovely! A worthy complement to NavyDawg's.

I've been longing for a Japanese soldier for some time now, so I'll be following future developments with acute interest. :)

Good work, but I noticed you changed several, sometimes most of the sounds afterwards? It took me some time to research, find and rework the fitting sounds for your weapons, make them fit to the animations (e.g. shot count) etc.pp.... you could just have let them in as alternate versions if you like yours better. :(
 
That's it for pack one, pack 2 will come out in the next few weeks.
Feel free to post any modern Asian unit requests here or in my Work in Progress thread. No premisses, but something might catch my eye.

@ Ares, sorry, I changed some of them to better match the default civ versions, I apologize for having you spend time searching for the right sounds.
 
New Modern Infantry for Japan, Persia, and Korea, and new Modern Paratroopers for China, Japan, Korea, and Persia as well! Cool!
 
I love the victory anim for the PLA and PLAAF, it's very well done. The grenade anim for Japanese Special Forces could be a bit more... well, you know ;) more like throwing a real grenade :D

Will you be doing some South Korean counterparts to your comrades from the north?

EDIT: I think they are planned already but Indian units are much in need. Also, it would be awesome if you did some MG teams along the lines of Wyrm's units.

EDIT 2: Also rocket launcher/RPG units are great if you have the time.

Good animantions with little variation, such as in run.flc or second attack, to better diversify units.

For your information download link on post #1 for JSDF Infantry does not work (downloaded through DB). Also in DPRK Infantry .rar there is a DPRK.flc that looks just a renamed DPRKrun.flc .
Other than this, very good units

As you were so kind to say "feel free to post request" and "maybe Oceania" I would love to see units from Autralia and New Zealand (both part of the WestPAC-Pacrim area as most of the guys posted here). I would suggest
Australian Army Infantry and SAS, NZ Army Infantry and SAS.

I'd totally love some NZ infantry and SAS. I have a mod set in NZ I've been working on off and on for ages and some NZ soldiers would be fantastic.

Also, are the North Koreans still using a single coloured uniform. I just read something that says they are switching to a woodland type camo. HERE

I agree: some Indian and Australian forces will be of great use for many scenarios.

I'll definitely be using some of these, thanks Shiro! If you are up for requests, I am interested in military units of all types from 1948 onwards for the following countries, but most importantly Japan:

- Japan
- China
- USSR\Russia
- North Korea
- South Korea
- USA
 
Great work, Shiro! Expecting more in a future, as you say there'll be a pack 2. :) And yep, please, put sounds from Ares into it - as alternative ones - I like his work and I don't seem to be the only one.
 
Nice work, ShiroKobbure, and I suspect this will be a very popular series. It's been great to see more modern era units for Asian civs recently.

No requests, just looking forward to the graphics you have previewed when they are ready: Americas, Japanese, leaderheads and the Call of the Barbarians line. If you do decide to do Aussies and Kiwis you're liable to make many civvers happy.

This is used off of the soldiers I saw at the JSA of the DMZ, that was in August. Also most of the photos of them on the internet still wear this Soviet style uniform. I believe in 2000 North Korea soldiers introduced a woodland camo, but one of the problems is it looks very similar to South Korea's (maybe on purpose). And I wanted the two civs to stand out more.
The NK machine gunner, RPG, or marine will have camo. I'm not sure which one(s) I will make for NK.

Also the next pack has one Indian unit at the moment. And I'm still researching what the next one should be.
