Im sorry zulu9812, redhat, but after posted my message I REALLY tested the fixed unit. I dunno if how I fixed it, or how civanator made it but the animation jerks up and down between actions. Like it jerks up from default to fidget or down from run to attack. Ill try to fix it some more.

To Civanator & CrapSlinger (welcome to CFC by the way. :) ),

Give me a couple of days and I'll fix this animation, which I'll post to Civanator so that he can update the first post of this thread.

    To mizaq & trevor,

Yes, modern fire teams work in groups of 4....but does it matter?
If a Modern Infantry unit represents a 500 man battalion, then it doesn't matter if they have 2 figures, 3 figures, 4 figures....it is just a REPRESENTATION of a large body of men, nothing more.

Taking the analogy to extremes, what do you suggest we do with the Roman Legionaries?
A late Republican/early Imperial Cohort was composed of 480 men, organised into 6 Centuries of 80 men each. And each Century, led by a Centurian, was composed of 10 Contubernia, led by a Decanus, of 8 men each. :crazyeye:

Isn't it much easier to just slap 6 Legionary figures into a unit because it looks nice, and let people decide whether it represents a Cohort or a Legion, depending on their preferences? ;)

Well, using the trick to create munits of munits of munits,
You could start with 6 legionnaries, then 4 , then 4, then 5, to get your cohort.
Of course, to have it fit in the cell, I suggest a 50% size reduction at each step except the last, so that means units that will be 1/8 size.

It's the Green Berets and Rangers that use the 3 man teams and the Seals and Marine Recon use 6 man teams. I hope that helps with u'r team number problem guys.

Looks great, regardless the number of men.:p
Any more, and it would be too tight. And I'm a USAF wannabe, so I wouldn't know if there should be 3 or 300:lol:

Kryten, you're not telling me that 18th C (European) infantry usually fought in combat columns, are you? I've read many a book making a point of that the Revolutionary French switched from lines to combat columns.
