The Convair B-58 Hustler, was the first operational bomber capable of Mach 2. Exclusively nuclear armed, about a hundred built and were in service from 1960 to 1970. The introduction of Soviet SAMs made it obsolete, it was replaced by the F111.

Closely resembling the American F35, the stealthy Shenyang J-35 will fill a similar role. The major visual difference is the twin WS-13 engine setup. It has been offered to Pakistan and Egypt as the FC-31B Gyrfalcon. Five or six prototypes have flown so far. There is a naval version in the works.
