@Tomoyo: Yeah I figured some of that out when posting at the other thread on Mighty Air Force. But thanks for the explanation though :D

@502nd PIR: Shore bombardment? Ships. Destroy enemy fleets? Redline and they'll run back to heal, and when you take their cities the ships are destroyed :D IMO a few bombers are good to have though

Bomber blitz is very useful in Regicide.

I hear blindly sending the SOD at the AI capital is also very useful in Regicide. (Another thing, you can't take bombers with you inside deep enemy territory)

You only need to kil the king unit in Regicide to eliminate the civ. When that unit dies, their entire cities will be ruins.

Unless the civ respawns. Boy that sure was a surprise.

Which is why I usually turn that option off. :D

Which is why a horde of bombers is useful if they are positioned correctly. ;)

Ah but that is it. Is it not a leaders job to be prepared? Hey, once you reach the modern age, has anyone here ever found much of a use for a navy? for me they're uses have been brought down. Still good for attacking transports/ships, but stealth bombers can take them out from carriers at a huge distance. They are good for blockades too, and for escorting transports, but thats it. They're bombardment is too inaccurate for my tastes. Just curious.

I do. I get to move a bunch of them in a squadron formation and play admiral

No, really, their primary use for me is always escort and to secure the seas. And IMO that goes for any age. In the industrial you can build bombers if you want to, the ships' bombardment are just extra.

If they are positioned correctly? The AI respawns in a random spot that meets the spawning criteria (neutral territory on the countinent), and having bombers in position is all a matter of chance. All artillery is always in position.

When the respawning civ just happens to be on that one tile none of your bombers can reach

Then I move my carriers into position. :p

If they are out of range of my carriers, then I will pull out the artillery and tank hordes. (I don't like to use artillery for major multi-front attacks. Then I would actually have to guard them!)

Oh, I don't build carriers much, my air force is usually land based.
