Modified Scenarios Workshop

Does anyone remember the name of an MGE or FW scenario about Antigonus I Monophthalmus and Demetrius during the Macedonian Successor wars? I vaguely remember it being a decent scenario and one of the very few Diodochi scenarios. If so, did it ever get converted to ToT?

Hi Fairline,

Did you mean the following "Antigonos ò Monophtalmòs" by Prometeus, which can be found under the CivFanatics Ancient scenarios download section here.

I see that there was an effort to convert it to ToT but I never tried it myself. It can be found in the CivFanatics download section here.

EDIT: Sorry, the files for the download page are not for a ToT conversion but just FW.

I have a conversion done, which seems almost finished, but I didn't play it, because the icons are missing, but I imagine that the whole part of the conversion of the scenario is finished.

I include some scenarios TOTPP, improved in some cases with input from Fairline and Tanelorn, and with other changes made by me. I hope you like them.

Does anyone know why this scenario crashes after Turn 5 (April 1462)? The problem is not due to the events file or the @Civilize section of rules. When I remove events and change @Civilize to default, the scenario still crashes.
I have not problems with this scenario ... Are you playing with a certain version of ToTPP?
I will check with everything that there is no problem that I have not seen before.

Yes, it may be a problem with the TOTPP patch. I am using the newest version (v0.16). When I remove the @COSMIC2 section from rules, the problem still persists.

It is most likely a broken event or tech-loop/rules problem. These are what cause 99% of crashes in Civ2.

I'd check the tech tree for techs that have themselves as a preq, or that there is a direct researchable line to future techs.

If the AI cannot get a path to the future tech, crashes are assured.

The thing is that this scenario worked fine in MGE when I played it 15 years ago. It continues to crash when I delete the events file and replace the rules file with the original default. For what it's worth, the Magyar civ cannot research (and does not possess) Future Technology 1, but can research Future Technology 2.

The failure is obviously in the conversion, and here I start with a work error of mine (and that Catfish did not): I do not include the modifications made by dates nor do I add numbers to show the different versions. Which is the reason? That I didn't feel like wasting my time ... which is good for me, but I don't know the changes made or problems that were solved in the different scenarios; and on the other hand, although I try to include the latest versions or changes in the scenarios, in the download, this can only be known by the date.
With the volume of scenarios made, all these failures have a bad solution. None really. So I'll start at the beginning: my Danube zip is from 09/22/2020, and the latest version of something that may affect us is from Rules on 03/01/20 (in case there was a problem and I fixed it in the past )
If we don't ... have a big setback, because the scn was converted 12/07/17 and I just checked by hex that the corruption from the scenario is correctly removed:

As Curt Sibling says, I checked the technological advances, and there are no faults here either:

Labels.txt is from 02/27/20, and depending on the case it can also lead to system failure.

And I'm also going to upload a very groundbreaking scenario for the moment it was published (2012), until today I think the best fact of a battle, due to the small modifications in graphics and others, with new units made by Fairline, in case it is of your interest:

Battle of Iwo Jima 1945 by Tootall

Gapetit, thanks for explaining it. Don't worry about the Danube Empire scenario. It's no big deal, especially given the incredible output of other scenarios that I can play. I look forward to your newest conversions :)

Just curious: Did you ever get around to converting Empire of Thessalonike or Boot? I see that you mentioned them in a post from 2016.

Thanks Minipow, it is always interesting to warn of bugs in the scenarios, because if problems can be avoided and conversions improved, it is good for all players.

Both scenarios that you indicate were practically finished when my computer crashed (precisely in 2016) and they were lost, and so far I have not tried to finish the conversion again, and it are certainly great scenarios.
