I noticed that those English say "mum" not mom like us normal Americans.

I find this barbaric and worthy of several strategically places nukes on London.

Your thoughts?

Mum. It rhymes with rum, not dom.

I've heard both Mum and Mom used in Canada. For both my wife and me (and now our daughter), we've used Mum.

With an O

Neither. Momma is what I call my mother and memaw is what I called my grandmother and my grandfather was papaw.

Mam or ma, anything else just sounds really childish to me

God, I can't believe this world was one ruled by people that use such an abomination like mum.

No wonder the Americans won the Revolutionary War. We have the superior pronunciation.

Mom is only used by annoying whiney brats.

Mum is only used by the grandchildren of an extinct empire.

Mom is used by the children of the still-existing empire. :goodjob:

Mom, obviously.

I also make liberal use of madre thanks to the indoctrination procedure Sra. Hernandez put me through. I intend to eat her 100 or so babies one day.

Mom. Though typically I use Ma.
