Ok so here is my first atempt at a story. Dont get mad if its a pathetic chieftain story. Im just trying to share and learn from this community.

Ok so the settings are...
Civ3 gold
chieftain
Small sized Map
No Barbs
Continents 70% water
Normal, temperate, 4 billion
Space Race, Conquest, Cultural
civ specific abilities, randon seed, accelerated production, cultural conversions

The civ i chose is the mongols. I didnt really have any specific reason for choosing them though

As I begin...
4000 BC
I start with a fairly nice starting location with water and wheat.
I found Karokorum in this location for a bright future ending the nomadic life.

3750 BC
here i find some OK land but with some jungle desert and mountains as i explore with a pair of scouts.

3500 BC
Continuing to explore about, to the west of karakorum, i find a nifty little peninsula which i hope to occupy in the near future.

ill put some sort of table of contents at the top of this page once i post a few more updates. thank you. please comment and offer tips and criticism

Looks pretty good, Camulodunum. :)

Even though it's a small map, it appears that you have a good amount of room to expand into.

ok thank you people:). i will play and post more as soon as i can tomorrow

EDIT: as we continue along i have yet to even send out a settler. as of now i dont care about defenses since this early on in chieftain the AIs mind their own business.

3200 BC

i recieve BW.
Here i dont know why i took this. I guess just to show the nice work my scouts were doing. Still yet to find a rival.

3000 BC

now this shot got me somewhat angry. Seriously last place? Didnt bother me that much though since i knew id flip the tables soon and climb out of the cellar. Also i sent out my first settler.

2800 BC

I founded Ta-Tu (cool name!) and sent out another one from Karakorum. for a minute or so, i thought about where to put him. My best idea was the one thats the furthest on the right So i sent the young settler on his way.

Continuing with an update....

2700 BC

Well look what weve got here!
An Unguarded, freshly seetled spanish city. I would talk to them later, but for now i had other work to do.

2670 BC

I settled Kazan in that snug little spot and made a trade with Spain: Pottery for Ceremonial Burial.

Very nice!

I've got a tip for you: Don't irrigate grasslands when in Despotism. That wont do you any good except if you are near researching/revolting to Republic or Monarchy. Mine all grasslands in Despotism. :)

Otherwise, goodjob and continue to write the story. :goodjob:

oh thank you. yes i know about despotism tile penalty. the reason i was trying to irrigate grasslands is to make a decent settler/worker factory while my side citys work on military and development. usually by the mid mideval ages when i need more production and the cities are all set and ready to go until hospitals, then do i mine grasslands. and i will update monday. double update possibly:)

2630 BC
Recieved Masonry

2430 BC

My empire and the land around it.

2350 BC

Got Alphabet

2190 BC

Founded Almarikh on the river Northeast of Kazan

2110 BC

Learned the Wheel

1950 BC

Recieved Mysticism

This is what my civ looked like afetr the founding of almarikh and as you can see in the bottom left there is a settler heading towards the peninsula.

1910 BC

I found the Aztecs and asked for a trade.
I coughed up masonryand mysticism in exchange for HBR and a small portion of gold

update possible tomorrow

On your question about where to send the settler. You know nothing is to the west, but the end of the island/continent, so no reason to rush in that direction right now.

You gave two other spots to pick from. The farthest is a easy, skip it for now. That leaves one spot. The reason to skip the far coastal is that you lose time traveling and its distance will be more corrupt than the other. so give it the better ranking. One more reason is you know you have a river for the spot that is the better location.

"oh thank you. yes i know about despotism tile penalty. the reason i was trying to irrigate grasslands is to make a decent settler/worker factory while my side citys work on military and development."

This does not compute. How does irrigation of a grass tile help with workers or settlers? If it was mined, it would actually help as the extra shield may reduce the time needed for the 10 or 30 shields required. The shield will help with any builds.

The settler heading west is not in your best interest right now. You can fill that in later, right now fill in towards the other guys and grab land there before they can.

oh yes i understand vxma i should have done something else about the setttler but i have already played through the game a liitle and i have to catch up with the updates, i have already settled the territory on my continent. i will use this information though in another game. and there will be no update until thursday at the earliest as i have no access to the computer on which i have the save on.

When are we gonna get an update?

1830 BC

The Histograph shows that I am winning right now.

Cant figure out what year i wrote down but im guessing 1790?

Founded Tabriz on the bottom of the peninsula.

1675 BC

Learned Writing

1625 BC

Founded Ulaanbataar on the coast north of Tatu. By now the Spanish settled seville pretty far south, sabotaging my settling plan. I figured id ruin theirs. Also got Iron Working and all of the Aztecs gold for Writing.

1600

From 1575 BC to 1400 BC
I sent out 5 settlers and founded Hovd to the north east of seville in effort to begin cutting it off from spains heartland.

Update tomorrow.

Almarikh is wasted on wealth and looks like a good little settler producer.
Seeing as ur enemy is quite near by and the map is small, id mine your capital and start producing some offensive force, either archers or if you have iron when u get iron working Swordsmen

:trophy:Remember to find horses and iron (not so much iron but needed for Middle ages ). But so far:goodjob:

Is it tomorrow yet?
