Standart size, continents map. Normal speed.

I killed Pacal with some jaguars, captured his capital (the hindu holy city), got the CoL slingshot and founded confucianism.

Now I'm rebuilding the economy, and I usually mess everything up, so I'm looking for help.

What shoud each city speacilize? Who should I attack next?

The continent has Saladin, Isabella and Justinian, all buddhist, but buddhism doesn't spread to one of my cities.

Although I have been out formonths, pls bear with me when I post this.

There has been enough room for you to expand in. Your east coast has some high food grassland spots that you have not settled yet. Settle them you lazy bastard! ;)

There is planety of jungle and only 5 workers for 6 cities... You need 5 or so more workers to clear those jungles for you as you seem to work a lot of unimproved tiles which is not good at all.

What do you plan to do about the barb cities? They seem to be is solid locations well worth a visit yet they are still around.

I think that the game is won if you could only get around claiming the land that you have at your disposal and being able to work improved tiles with workers. Try to resist the urge to build infrastructure like libraries until you have enough improved land. More workers, less buildings and you should be fine!

Seems like great cottage land.

Stop making buildings and start making settlers and workers. Whip like 5 or more workers like Shurdus says, then make some settlers to get all of your green tiles. Start with a couple of farms to get the cities to happycap (I see that you have lots of unworked cottages) and then cottage the f**k out of that jungle. Start with the river tiles.

Get up a library in tlatelolco ASAP and start running scientists with caste system. Monte is spiritual iirc, utilize that to switch between slavery for whipping and caste system for specialists as you see fit. Use your great scientists for academies in your best cottage cities. Your shouln't need to bulb anything to win lib. I'd go for great library too seeing you have marble.

This is by no means being critical as I am a Noble player myself. At 1AD, your beakers per turn is +39 at 60% (at 100% you'd be looking at +65 beakers per turn). Reading other posts in various threads, it says +100 beakers per turn at 1AD is what I should be aiming for. Wonder if others can comment on this?

I know for myself, when I approach 1AD and I'm not getting +100 beakers per turn, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong. That being said, in my first Noble win, I wasn't quite at +100 beakers at 1AD, but recovered nicely. MY biggest problem is not expanding fast enough. I find myself with 5 or 6 cities by 1AD.

In this case, you killed Pacal. In my last game, I took out Pericles to control my continent. Does early warring take away from generating beakers or can they both co-exist?

like everyone else said build 5 or more additional workers quick. Use the whip anywhere that doesn't have whip anger, can whip for 2 pop and has at least 1 turn of hammers invested in the build so you don't have the penalty. Improve the gems asap, revolt to hereditary rule if you haven't already.

Instead of not working high food tiles to keep cities from growing into unhappiness leave the governor automated and have them build a worker/settler. This works great all the way up to the point where you don't need anymore workers/settlers - hopefully you have more happiness by then and can just let them grow.

You should be researching literature (you have marble so great library would be nice) or civil service rather than construction. If this is a peaceful economy recovery time catapults aren't needed. The AI will get construction fast in every game so just trade for it.

Attack the two barb cities - you have enough troops to take both right now. Turn research to 100% - with the 200 gold you have and the money you'll get fromthe barb cities you can run 100% for awhile. Convert to buddhism as soon as it spreads to you. Beg for 80 or 100 gold as soon as any AI's turn to pleased. Keeping research at 100% for awhile will help with your tech rate until you can get more population/workers/improvements going.

Don't worry about the tech rate. Beakers at 1 AD varies a lot between games. You can have 120 bpt with 4 cities or 15 bpt with 10 cities. It's all about how much maintenance you have and how much riverside grassland or gems/gold etc... The games with 10 cities at 1 AD and a horrible tech rate usually will end up easier to win. Bulbing philosophy and education can catch you up. Getting an AI to friendly also makes things easier.

Also - not really a point in wasting hammers on Confucian missionaries when you plan on adopting Buddhism. Settlers/workers are more important. I usually only spend hammers spreading religion for my state religion if i'm using the organized religion or pacifism civics, or it's the Apostolic Palace religion so i'll spread it for more votes and hammer boosting temples/monasteries.

With Isa and Sal both Buddhist and both nearby they should spread buddhism to all your cities fast - they love to spend hammers doing this as long as you have open borders with them.

Anyway you should have no problem winning this. You still have a lot of work to do settling new cities and improving land so that should keep you busy up until Cuirassiers or so. Maybe try to get military tradition from liberalism rather than using macemen/trebs or war elephants or anything.

I would suggest what everyone else is saying, with a fairly large modification...You need to be planning on taking Isabella down. Madrid is a double-shrinable (potential) cottage city guarded by two archers. Get those cities up and running, but redeploy your military to take spain down. This will be a diplomatic nightmare, but the pay off is more than worth it.
