Prologue

It was peaceful in the small village of Carib. It was a small village in the jungle, isolated from the rest of the world by the tall mountains to the north and east of it. It was settled next to the great Tecc River. A river so wide and rapid none dared to trek through its many tributaries. Wildlife was few in such a small location that even birds refused to enter the land. Anything outside the vilage was of the gods control, and to leave these boundries would be a complete insult to them.

It was during this great time however, when a son was born to a wealthy miner and his wife. To be given a son was a gift of the gods! The Miner and is wife thought of a name for such a treasure! Ultimatly, they landed on Montezuma.

However, as he grew older it became clear that "Monty" was unlike the other boys. Everyday, all the men would hike into the mountains and gather food for the large community. However Monty stared off into space, perhaps dreaming of a world outside this village.

Eventually Monty grew up to be a miner in the mountains. He barely did any work and was known for throwing any excuse he had in order to avoid doing his job. However, when oppurtunity arrose, Monty led his men with great value and progress. He became well known for his leadership skills.

On Monty's 15th birthday. He finally worked up the courage to see what these "natural boundaries" were. At midnight, He sneaked out of the mine and found a rocky cliff that he could climb. He took a final look backa t the cmp to see if anyone could see, and noticed the guards were no where in sight. One by one, he grabbed each of the sharp stones and pushed himself forward until he reached the top.

With one final push, his bruised hands clenched the rock over the top of the mountain and thew himself on top, knocking off a patch of snow at the peak. He looked into the horizon and was amazed by what he saw. Forests with trees that seemed to reach to the sky, filled with creatures and birds of every sort sailing through the branches. He saw green flatlands with an endless amount of grass that seemed to pass on forever. Amazed as he was however, he failed to realize that the rock the rock he was sitting on was slowly giving way under the patch of snow he stood on. All Monty heard was a large crack before realizing he was sailing through the air.....

He woke up in the chieftains tent battered and bruised. Half Conscience he stood up and attempted to walk out the door before being stopped by the two guards who stood watch. As they threw him back on the bed, he heard the familiar footsteps of his chief walking into the room.

"YOU FOOL" the chief yelled. "Do you realize what you have done?"

Monty stared at him with a blank stare.

"The Boundaries that our gods have set for millions of years, GONE” he grew even angrier "Because a certian child grew too curious for his own good

Monty stared even longer without saying anything, unable to talk. He quickly realized the consequences for his action. Knowing death was unavoidable if he stayed. He found the last bit of strength in him to run. Running faster, and faster. He ran up river so fast that the guards gave very nearly a day ago. However, he continued to run, he ran and ran and ran until he had to stop. Without food or water, he had to trek through the rest of the grasslands, with no humans in sight, he decided to finally rest by the river.

When he woke, he was not alone. Oddly dressed men were hovering over his body like vultures picking prey. He jumped up in shock, and the men were startled as well. They took off running into the tall grasses that surrounded his resting spot. However, when Monty followed, he did not see just a small camp, but a whole town filled with people.

They were a poor tribe who named themselves as the Aztecs. Their Previous leader was lost in a freak jaguar fight accident. Amazed by Monty’s clean clothing and shiny jewelry, the village welcomed Monty warmly.

Monty quickly learned the language and customs of this village. In addition, the village was amazed at his simple understandings of math and science. Knowing that he was simply the only one qualified to lead this small village, Monty was declared Chief of Tenochitlan.

Monty knew that if this village wanted to survive, he would have to make a civilization that would survive the tests of time. To make an army that would not fear even death. To maintain an economy that his village could not have dreamed of! He needed to create the greatest empire the world had ever known!

And now, the stroy begins.....

Tenochitlan

4000 b.c.

Montezuma's empire began as a simple village by the Tecc River. With no important resources or goods nearby, Monty feared that the city would not be able to grow as well. Monty soon ordered the worker class of Tenochitlan together.

"Men, the first order of buisness is to find a way to make this city more productive, I dont care how, I just want it done!" Monty ordered.

"Aye sir," the head worker said. "Me and my men have been working this land for over 100 years. After heavy tests, we've discovered that some areas of grassland are more productive than others".

"Then order the Farmers, to well... make farms?"

"Actully sir, if given your permission, my men and I would like to make a syastem of mines in the area. Doing so would almost double the productivity!"

"Permsision granted!" Monty cheered "give the order to mine up the land":D

As the mine was being built, Monty decided that he needed to know more about this area. He organized a group of people together into the 1st Jaguar Warrior division.

Although the men had been trained and were ready for any battle they could fight, Monty knew what he really needed them for...

Having told the stroies of his great village in the jungle, all the people in the village grew anxious to see it for themselves. After a short period of thought, the warriors figured out why Monty needed them so much. Monty entered the warriors camp and explained to them that he realy wanted them to go into his village and see how they have been doing. However, Lastly in his speech, he asked for permission to join the warriors in their expedition.

After a long hike through the jungle, Monty and his warriors arrived at the Mountain in which Monty first climbed. As they trecked over the mountains. They became nearer and nearer to the village. At long last they saw the smoke of the village fire climbing high over the mountains. Monty, however, was not amused. He remembered that these were the men that wouldve killed him for simply climbing a mountain. He oredred the men to rest, and ultimaty decided not to enter.

As the warriors entered the village, they were stared down with cold eyes and motionless bodies. The once peaceful village smelled of smoke and blood. and the warriors felt more chills with every step. As they entered the chief’s tent, they noticed that all the men were armed and ready to fight, and an intense battle broke loose. Killing many of the warriors but in the end, the battle was won! Had Monty fought in the battle, he may have been killed.

However, caught in the intense battle, the warriors overlooked a small party of warriors fleeing the battle. At first they asumed that they were simply running away. However, this was not the case, as the warriors were running in the oppostie direction. In a split second desicsion, they all realized what was really happening. They were heading toawrds Tenochitlan! The men Abandoned the village (with 25 gold peices of course) and ran after the bandits. Monty and the warriors, ran faster than any Aztec had run before. But to no avail....

With Tenochitlan Sacked by the evil Caribs, Monty's sense of security drastically increased. He ordered another group of Jaguar warriors to be built and sent them to the north of the city. The troops navigated through the grasslands with much caution. They headed north through the mountain pass until they reached another small village, located in the mountains. As they entered the city, they had their weapons raised and ready to attack at any moment. However, this village did not even pay attention to them, and all were carrying large containers that seemed to hold large amounts of goods inside them.

As the troops approached the chieftain’s tent, they learned that these containers were called "pottery" and the villagers were happy to teach the Aztecs how to do this.

The 2nd Jaguar division continued to head northward through the newly named Tecc Mountain Pass. The Jaguar warriors were known for their speed and determination for scouting, and the mountain pass was navigated in no time at all. They ran until they reached a large lake in the center of the pass. The 2nd Jaguar warrior division was struck with a tough choice of heading east into the mountains, or head west into the hot "plains of sand"

they ultimate chose to head east, which as the warriors continued through the mountains, seemed to be a horrible choice. As food rations ran low and weapons began to rust, the warriors used every bit of strength they had to cross over the mountains. As they crossed the final mountain range, they came across a small community of red-skinned priests. They also, did not bear arms as the warriors entered the city. As they walked thorough the village, they came across a large building with many columns and engravings. Outside were a dozen priests on their knees with their hands folded. It is reviled that this practice is called Mysticism, and they men taught the warriors how to practive such a way of life.

2190 B.C.

With Tenochitlan population growing rapidly, because a large supply of grains was found on the outskirts of the city, it became clear to Monty that a new city must be constructed.

At the Palace in Tenochitlan

"I simply don’t care how many men and resources it will take," Monty yelled at his advisor "I just want the people organized and ready to move!"

Monty's closest advisor, Jaloho Tankalo; or simply known to his friends as Tanka, was a strong and brave warrior of the 1st jaguar division. He stood tall and bulky in stature with long tousled hair. With his strength and skill however, came with a strong need for power. He took orders from none but Montezuma himself. In addition, demanded respect from all his men.

"Sir, we cannot rush this project, we need all the citizens we can in order to create such a movement" Tanka replied.

"I see, if the project is not to be rushed. How long should it take?"

"About 4 turns, and it will take another 3 to move the people through the land." Tanka said confidently

"Tanka, I give you give you permission to supervise this movement, and report to me directly with any progress."

"Right away sir"

7 turns later
