More SelectSmart Political Selectors.

I have alredy taken all of those tests several times in fact.

well i've taken the European political ideologies selector:

result:You adhere to the Third Way. The Third Way is a fairly nebulous concept, but it rests on the idea of combining economic efficiency - i.e. a market economy with some intervention - with social responsibility. The focus is emphatically on the community as a whole, and not necessarily equality per se. Adherents of the Third Way range from moderate to conservative in their social views, and have recently been willing to take a "tough" line on a range of social issues.

well, so much for a clear cut ideology... Now i only have to find a political party called the Third Way :hmm:

for the fun of it, i also did the the US political region selector.
result: Mid Atlantic

Third Way is Blair's way :)

#1 You are a social liberal. Like all liberals, you believe in individual freedom as a central objective - but you believe that lack of economic opportunity, education, healthcare etc. can be just as damaging to liberty as can an oppressive state. As a result, social liberals are generally the most outspoken defenders of human rights and civil liberties, and combine this with support for a mixed economy, with an enabling state providing public services to ensure that people's social rights as well as their civil liberties are upheld.

And not surprise here, the US region that fits me better is NYC / New England.

For the Supreme Court justice quiz (my favorite), I first got O'Conner. I then went back and changed all of my "unsure" answers to the agree/disagree that I leaned most towards, and I got my usual top 3 of Breyer, Ginsberg, and Souter.

Regionally, I am Mid-Atlantic, and Upper-MidWest (where I truely live) was dead last. :)

Surprisingly, I am a European Communist. Boy, they must have odd definitions there.

For the Political ideology quiz, I got:

1)Anarchist
2)Marxist
3)Socialist
4)Progressive
5)Leninist
6)US Liberal
7)US Libertarian
8)US Conservative

For the Canadian Political Parties, I got:

1)Christian Hertiage Party ( :hmm: )
2)Marxist-Leninist Party (again, :hmm: )
3)Natural Law Party
4)Green Party
5)Alliance Party
6)Canadian Action Party
7)New Democratic Party
8)Bloc Quebocois
9)Progressive Conservative Party
10)Liberal Party

I don't think I did either of these tests very well. I am definetly not an anarchist, marxist, or socialist. And as for Canadian politcal parties, I have done a test like this before, and got Liberal, so I must have done something wrong.

I took the 2004 USA Presidential Candidate quiz and came out:

1. Green Party
2. Howard Dean
3. Al Sharpton
4. Wesley Clark
5. Dennis Kucinich
6. John Edwards

The basic lineup for a hardline liberal. Tell me something I DON'T know ;)

I've just done the European Political Ideologies poll, and, according to SelectSmart, here are my results :

1. Social liberal (Best representing myself)
2. Third Way
3. Social democrat
4. Market liberal
5. Christian democrat
6. Libertarian conservative (?)
7. Anarcho-capitalist (??)
8. Ecologist or green
9. Classical socialist
10. Communist
11. Anarcho-communist
12. Fascist (Worst representing myself)

Aparently I think like I am from the border states. (my actual region is Mid-Atlantic, #10 out of 13) If I were in Europe I would be a Christian Democrat even though I disagree with almost all of their possitions.

To show I really am smack dab in the middle, my Political Roots:

#1 Liberal Centrist (Democrat)
#2 Conservative (Republican)
#3 Christian/social Conservative
#4 Liberal Socialist
#5 Ecologist
#6 Social Democratic
#7 Anarchist
#8 Communist
#9 Fascist

My political region. Good, now I don't have to move!

#1 Mid Atlantic
#2 NYC / New England
#3 Pacific Coast / Hawaii
#4 Rust Belt
#5 Upper Mid-west
#6 Upstate New York
#7 Desert Southwest
#8 Rocky Mountain / Alaska
#9 South Atlantic
#10 Texas
#11 Border States: Virginia, Tennessee & Kentucky
#12 Deep South
#13 Peripheral South

Bush v. Gore all over again:

Your theoretical ideal candidate (Percent of agreement with you = 100) Well, duh.

Al Gore - click here for positions (Percent of agreement with you = 61)

George W. Bush - click here for positions (Percent of agreement with you = 44)

#1 Deep South
#2 Peripheral South
#3 Border States: Virginia, Tennessee & Kentucky

I'm in the South, but I wouldn't consider the Atlanta suburbs, the deep south. I am a transplanted Virginian.

1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
2. Bush, President George W. - Republican (61%)
3. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat (57%)
4. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (50%)

Kucinich? You're kidding me!

don't you find it a bit scary that we can determine where you're from depending on what you think ? That globally means that people only think what people around them think... which is quite a bit scary. Actually, I don't see many countries where it's this way in Europe.

Well, it's more of a stereotypical approach. After all, I got my actual region as my last choice.

You also have to factor in that these regions in the US are all the size of several European countries.

Well, here's my European Political Ideology:

1. Anarcho-Communist
2. Social Liberal
3. Anarcho-Capitalist
4. Ecologist or Green
5. Social Democrat
6. Third Way
7. Communist
8. Market Liberal
9. Christian Democrat (WTH?!)
10. Classical Socialist
11. Fascist
12. Libertarian Conservative

I just noticed the "Past Presidents" selector and decided to take it. The results are pretty accurate:

# Andrew Jackson (more info) (score = 100)
# James K. Polk (more info) (score = 98)
# Abraham Lincoln (more info) (score = 98)
# George Washington (more info) (score = 96)
# Theodore Roosevelt(more info) (score = 95)
# Thomas Jefferson (more info) (score = 92)
# Lyndon Baines Johnson (more info) (score = 87)
# Chester Arthur (more info) (score = 87)
# Grover Cleveland (more info) (score = 84)
# William McKinley (more info) (score = 84)
# James Monroe (more info) (score = 84)
# James Madison (more info) (score = 82)
# John Adams (more info) (score = 81)
# John Quincy Adams (more info) (score = 81)
# Woodrow Wilson (more info) (score = 80)

It got my top three of Jackson, Lincoln. and T. Roosevelt almost dead-on, with Polk also being up there. The only thing that disturbs me is the ranking of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, both of which I find highly overrated, and the fact that Andrew Johnson, who is decisively my LEAST favorite president of all time, was right behind Wilson (another favorite) at 79.

For those interested, Millard Fillmore, who is my avatar, came in at 73, tied with Grant and John Tyler (??!! -- I suppose my foreign policy is similar to Tyler's, but I despise the guy otherwise.)
