Most intresting period in Iranian history?

Granted those are all very interesting points in history but would you really wanna be a soldier at anytime before the 20th century? I mean, life would suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Would you really want to be alive at anytime before the twentieth century? Hell, would you really want to be alive before now?

Personally I would like to see the period from 1951-1953. Mostly to see if Mossadegh was as good as I'm lead to believe?

Seconded. I always love those "I would totally go back in time to x" statements, simply because of how much of a crapsack world life has been for much of history.

Well, if I had the right place in society it might not be too bad. Or if you lost all knowledge of the future, then you won't feel bad.

But yes, living in the past would be, for the most part, horrible.

Well, assuming that you didn't catch any of the nastier diseases floating around, which, given that this was before antibiotics, was all of them. :mischief:

A bit of suffering, but being emperor (or perhaps a step or two below) at the right times would have been more than a fair trade.

I'm not sure that having your guts turned to liquid by dysentery is "a bit of suffering". :p

That's why the only place I'd ever go back in time would be Nubia.

I'd go back to the Sassanid period, just to find out if all the awful things the Nestorians said about "the Magians" were true.

What about Lesbos, it's where them Sapphics originated.

What would a gay man do on an island of Lesbians?

You should have told me that before I stuck both feet in my mouth.
Anyway bring a camcorder, you have will made millions out of the footage.

Go with the second century BC with the Pahlavan-Seleukid shootout

Ahem, back on topic heretics. I require interesting periods in Iranian history for certain purposes. And those are the three I've come up with but if anyone has more interesting points I may take up those.

I gave you one before my male brain started drooling on me. I said '51-'53.

Yeah definitely. It would have been interesting reaching adulthood during the 1960s. Not in Ireland though, the US or UK.
