You are correct regarding Box Office but the movie is much loved and has incredible fan base, numerous websites, fanzines, etc. AFI has it listed, as well as other critically acclaimed institutions.

But perhaps you are correct in that it does not appeal to mass mentality. I guess I am biased because almost anyone I know holds it in very high regard and it certainly stands up to repeated viewings. Especially the Directors cut. Brilliant allegoric filmmaking.

Sure, the acting wasn't wonderful, the plot (if it existed) wasn't great, and the characters weren't quite up to par with those from the TV show...

...but all it promised was car chases, bar fights, and Jessica Simpson, and it delivered. No more should have been expected.

    Amazon Women From The Moon.

Canadian Bacon I really don't consider underrated. It's a great flick and well recognized as such.

Black Hawk Down. I know, I know, it was huge, but it is easily in my top 5 list all-time.

    Shaun of the Dead.

    Rocky II.

    Hotel Rwanda.

    Boondock Saints.

Spotty, but well worth viewing. Gotta love Don "No Soul" Simmons.

Should I be embarassed that I own it on DVD?

How about: A Bridge Too Far.

Compelling and true account of a failed attempt to capture Nazi bridges. Excellent film, great cast, great acting. Historically a bit more accurate than most war films and not nearly as worshipping as Patton.

Oh, come on!, Could you tell me how does the episode 4 end? The good guys destroy the death star. And the episode 6? the good guys destroy the death star. And the episode 1? one child destroys the death star just by pushing buttons at random. :vomit:

Frankly, I don't see the talent.

The last half hour of episode 3 lacks of any surprise at all, you know what is going to happen because you have already seen episode 4 and you still expect some consistency in the series.

Spinal Tap is awesome and widely recognized as brilliant, the start of a new genre, and is hardly underrated.

Now, Best of Show or Waiting for Guffman, perhaps.

All very good movies. with the exception of Drugstore Cowboy, which is excellent.

Taxandria was a movie i liked. I cannot find it anywhere though...
The only 'star' in it was a german actor who is relatively known internationally (i do not remember his name atm), and the animated sequences were made by the same artist who created the famous Pink Floyd marching hammers sequence ;)

Big Trouble was a very under appreciated comedy.

I would say Batman Begins, but I think that is fairly well known.

Minority Report was also pretty good.
