I may change this to metamagic affinity as I cannot enable Channeling 2 at the moment. It would give the universal punch I'm looking for and seems fairly balanced at the moment. Thanks for all the feedback.

Fireball- good objections here. It would be similar to the Golem Army of Doom and possibly OPed.
Maelstrom- Fairly popular, looks like it may work in a pinch.
Dispel Magic- Mentioned a lot, might be worth looking into. Not sure if it is currently "combat" effective.
Metamagic- suggested by several posters, grants a ballooning bonus with the tradeoff of less magic available.
Pie- coding this spell tonight.
 
dispel is not really offensive, but can help your units (rust) and soften of a bit the opponent.
maelstrom : good because both powerful and not-OP due to the damage cap

Would non-combat units get metamagic affinity? that's what I was saying with the stoneskin, you could have workers that fight back. The problem then would be getting a combat animation for workers. You could probably steal the archer's knifing animation.
 
Good question Megamanx06. I'm guessing no as the affinity seems tied to unit classes, and workers are not included as such. We'll see once .21 is finished and I test all the changes to .11
 
I'd say Dispel Magic granted to all units in the city, and a custom promo in the form of "Kylorin's Legacy" to all units built in the city, granting +20% towards Winterborn and +1 Metamagic Affinity.

And having the wonder should give a negative diplomacy modifier from Auric. :p
 
I like it, Luckman. It is settled.

Just need a little bit of playtesting with it, but it shouldn't prove OPed, especially after I start working the other UUs, UPs and UIs in.

Everyone else, thanks for voting, and check out CUWs sometime for some Amurite fun. And don't worry, you can still build hordes of Firebows after you survive thanks to your uber-powered regular units and use them + Gonnovan to destroy all that opposes you.
