"I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God," Mourdock said. "And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."

"Are you trying to suggest that somehow I think that God pre-ordained rape? No, I don't think that. That's sick. Twisted. That's not even close to what I said. What I said is that God creates life."

So person X was conceived when person Y raped person Z. God intended for X to be conceived, but didn't intend for person Y to rape person Z. Was person Y person Z's long lost soul mate and intended husband?

Solve it for me.

Women are broodmares for the state.

Well if god wished it to happen it must be okay or osmeuethrapsdf[;carghhhh

I can't believe people believe this crap

I don't think anything would surprise me anymore.

If Romney wins, with the GOP in its current state, my only choice is to accept the fact that America is an innately backwards country. Ah well, it is what it is.

I think you are operating under the faulty premise that the loudest members of a group are somehow a representative sample of the group as a whole. I don't think that of the Democrats despite the number of loudmouth crazies they have.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

1. Rape is bad.
2. All people have a right to life, even if conceived by rape (which, as aforementioned in 1, is bad).

Is it such an insanity for these two beliefs to coexist?

Would you tell a grown woman, who was conceived by rape, that her existence was an error and she doesn't deserve to live?

No, God neither does nor causes evil.

But if God is omnipotent, then He can derive good things from even the worst of evils.

To resist the urge to rape is to disobey God's will and to murder a baby.

Recount for me why rape is counted among the worst of sins.

The strawmen in this thread are outrageous. If you want to believe that anybody who thinks rape is evil but we shouldn't kill children if they were conceived by evil is inconsistent about their beliefs, fine. But please do not insinuate that we, therefore, believe that rape is a good thing or willed by God. That is despicable.

It didn't even make the top 10.

According to Orthodox Judaism and Roman Catholicism, the only sins that are never excusable by circumstance are rape and blasphemy.

Rape isn't even close to the worst sin in most religious thought. It's merely a man using the wrong woman without her father's permission.

No, God neither does nor causes evil.

According to God.

So God, according to himself, doesn't cause evil. Even though we're practically up to our necks in it.

So we're:

1) Surrounded by evil ( or stuff that I would call evil, anyhow. )

2) In a universe created by some guy.

3) Guy says he made all of it, but claims he "didn't make the evil part."

Wow. I'm convinced.
